The vacation is signed, the tour package is paid, the suitcase is packaged, there is a happy rest time ahead. Do not forget to carefully examine the travel voucher for compliance with the agreement signed at the travel agency, otherwise the vacation may be hopelessly ruined. It is better to eliminate unpleasant surprises before starting the trip.
What does a travel voucher look like?
Vouchers are printed on sheets of white or colored paper. The size of the voucher does not matter, the main thing is its content. After all, it is a copy of the electronic information entered when booking in the hotel system, travel company and transfer service. Traveling quite often, not everything goes according to plan, and the voucher is designed to insure you from such unforeseen circumstances, such as, for example, a list of tourists forgotten by a guide or a hang-up of the hotel reservation system. Abroad, your travel voucher for foreigners is the primary proof of paid services.
The voucher contains basic information about your reservation in Russian and English.
Voucher Number
This is your reservation number in the tour operator system. On it you can verify the authenticity of your reservation by calling the office of the tour operator.
Tourist data, family composition
In the voucher, the number of adults and children is mandatory, as well as the passport data of all participants in the trip. Surnames, first names, dates of birth and passport numbers. You must verify the correctness of each letter and number.
Hotel Name and Room Type
The hotel must strictly correspond to the name and number of stars indicated in the voucher. If you are suddenly accommodated in another hotel or in a room that does not correspond to the one specified in the voucher, you have the full right to file a claim with the sending travel agency. If, for example, you paid for a two-room suite with a balcony and sea view, and you were accommodated in a one-room suite without a balcony on the ground floor, politely indicate the hotelier in the category of paid room prescribed in the voucher.
Types of food
At the hotel you will be fed exactly as indicated in your voucher. Food can be of several types:
- RO - accommodation without meals;
- BB - breakfast only;
- HB - breakfast and dinner (or lunch);
- FB - three meals a day;
- AI, All - all inclusive;
- UAI - Ultra All Inclusive.
The presence or absence of transfer
If you paid for the meeting and the transfer to the airport, this information should also be indicated in the voucher. The date of the meeting and the wires, and the type of transfer (individual or group), as well as the type of transport (usually the make of the car and the total number of seats).
Tour duration
Check this item carefully. Opposite the hotel name, the duration of the tour (date of check-in and date of check-out from the hotel) should be indicated. Please note that check-in and check-out times in the voucher are not always indicated. In most hotels in the world, check-in occurs after 14.00, and rooms are delivered before 12.00.
Host Name and Contact Information
For the convenience of quick detection of your meeting company at the airport, a picture with the logo of the meeting party is indicated in the tourist voucher. Having it before your eyes at the exit from the airport, you can easily find the right person with the same logo on the plate.
In case of unforeseen situations during the rest, first of all call the representatives of the host company at the numbers indicated in the voucher. Their job is to ensure your good rest. If the problem is not resolved, contact the sending travel agency.
Sometimes the name of the seller company is indicated in the travel voucher, but this item is optional.
The presence or absence of travel insurance
Also, information on the type and terms of your insurance policy can be entered in the voucher, which is not mandatory. Do not confuse the voucher with the insurance policy itself. When an insured event occurs, you will not need a voucher, but a tourist medical insurance policy (if one was issued).
Flight data
This item is optional, but sometimes the flight data of your tickets is duplicated in the voucher. Names and codes of airports, dates and time of arrival and departure.
A travel voucher must be provided by the travel agency in 3 copies: on one side, the hotel and you. If you have only one copy of the voucher, be sure to stock up on a couple of copies.
If in any of the points of your voucher you find a discrepancy with reality, urgently contact the travel agency that sold the ticket. All misunderstandings will be easier to resolve before the start of the trip than explained later with representatives of another state.
The seller company is fully responsible to the buyer for the organization of the tour. If the services indicated in the voucher are not provided in full, the buyer has the right to apply to the judicial authorities upon returning home. The voucher in this case, along with the contract, will serve as an important evidence in the resolution of the dispute in court.
