It was adopted on the basis of the order of the Russian Committee of Precious Metals No. 146 of October 30, 1996. Are jewelry purchased at a pawnshop eligible to be returned
Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to purchase jewelry in salons. Therefore, often purchases of precious metal products are made at a pawnshop.
But this does not affect the ability to return a defective product to the seller. The main thing is to keep a check, which will confirm that the purchase was made in this place. If the pawnshop refuses to return funds for a low-quality product, you can safely contact the prosecutor's office or the local department for protecting consumer rights.
How to return
Whether jewelry is subject to return has been clarified. But how to do it the most correctly and legally justified?
In the event that the purchase was overshadowed by a discovered marriage (an idle lock, a pebble dropped out) or by the difference in the amount indicated on the check and the tag, then it is worth writing a claim addressed to the director of the jewelry store. It is worth describing as much as possible the reason for the return of the product. The seller will be required to respond to the claim within ten days. It will indicate whether the seller returns the money or exchanges the product. He may also order an examination. It should not last more than twenty days.
