The mission “Diplomatic immunity” refers to the main storyline of Skyrim. During the quest, the hero will have to penetrate the residence of the Talmors and find evidence of their involvement in the appearance of dragons. As you probably understood, this is not an easy task, but after reading this article, you can still cope with it.
How to start a quest?
You just won’t succeed in starting the “Diplomatic Immunity” passage. It is understandable, because the quest is included in the main plot chain. Simply put, to begin its implementation, you will need to complete all the previous tasks.
The quest that goes along the story line in front of Diplomatic Immunity is called The Blade in Darkness. Performing it, you will witness the resurrection of the dead dragon Saloknir, with whom, by the way, you will almost immediately need to fight. The battle, in principle, is simple, but you should not underestimate the enemy.
In addition, Dolphin, seeing how the hero absorbs the soul of the defeated Saloknir, will finally be able to make sure that he is a real Dovakin. Then she opens up and shares with you her assumptions that the Talmors are somehow connected with dragons.
Training
Dolphin will go to think about everything that happened and invite the hero to meet in Riverwood. Arriving at the place and talking to her (she will be waiting for you in her secret room), you will find out that the Talmors are going to hold a reception at their embassy soon. It is there that the hero has to penetrate. Fortunately, Dolphin can arrange so that Dovakin will be among those invited to the party.
Dolphin will ask you to meet her friend, whose name is Mulborn. You can find this forest elf in Solitude, in the Laughing Rat tavern. Well, don’t waste a minute and rather go there.
Having met with Mulborn, give him all the equipment (including potions, scrolls, etc.) that you intend to use at the Talmor embassy. It turns out that the elf can carry all this inside, and then imperceptibly pass it on to the hero.
After this, go again to the Dolphin. This time she is waiting for you not so far, on the Katla farm (this is very close to Solitude). Dress in elegant clothes, give Dolphin your belongings (don’t worry, they can be returned later), get into the carriage and go to the party. Now you can proceed to the next stage of the quest "Diplomatic immunity" in "Skyrim".
Distraction
Go to the entrance to the embassy and give the invitation to the wizard or one of the guards. Here you are inside. Almost immediately, the main emissary, Helenven, will pester you and try to meet you. In the dialogue with her, choose the option “They told me a lot about you!”, After which Mulborn will distract the elf and save Dovakin from excessive attention.
Now, on the Diplomatic Immunity quest, you need to infiltrate the kitchen. It is there that Mulborn will be able to discreetly give the hero outfit. But first, you need to distract the guests with something to do everything unnoticed. Here you have several options:
- Take a drink from the servant Brelas or Mulborn and treat her to Razelan. The latter, being tipsy, will arrange a performance.
- With the proper skill of “Oratory”, you can convince Vittoria Vichi to make a scandal.
- You will have a talk with Erikur, having seen, as the merchant adheres to Brelas. He will begin to harass the maidservants and attract everyone's attention. True, Brelas will eventually be taken to the interrogation room, but then she can be saved.
- If you previously helped Ondolemar, you can convince him to arrange a rally.
- Jarl Idgrod Black will help you if you have completed the Eternal Peace task.
- If you have already completed the task “The Sun Rises in the East”, Orth Endario will help you. He will blame Raselan for being rude to Helenven.
- As a haafingar tan, you can count on the help of Elisif the Beautiful.
One way or another, you will be taken to the kitchen. Take your things from Mulborn and get ready for further action.
Search for evidence
Now that you have weapons and other equipment, you need to get into Helenven’s office and find evidence there. This can be done in two ways: with battle or unnoticed. If you decide not to make too much noise, you have to wait until the guards discussing something leave their post, and then sneak behind the mage on duty on the second floor.
Once in the chambers of Helenven, search the chest. Inside, you will find the Dragon Report, which is the goal of the Diplomatic Immunity quest. In addition, you will receive a key to the basement and a couple of interesting documents.
The escape
Go to the torture room after using the key found in the chest. Here you can free Etienne Rarnis, as well as the servant Brelas (if she was captured earlier). At the same time, the Talmors will attack Mulborn and, if you are quick, the elf can be saved.
Next, pick up the key from the body of one of the guards and open the hatch for them. The passage will lead you to a small cave, which is inhabited by an ice troll. Kill the monster and you can assume that you are already free. Now you just have to go to Riverwood to pick up your things (they will be in the secret room of the Dolphins) and talk with the owner of the tavern, who will give you further instructions.
