During the colonial dependence of Algeria on France, another monetary unit was used on the territory of the state - the Algerian franc. In 1962, Algeria gained sovereignty and two years later introduced its own national currency, which received the name "Algerian dinar." Dinar consists of one hundred centimes, which are issued in the form of metal coins.
Description
Algerian coins are issued in denominations of five, ten, twenty and fifty dinars. Occasionally, small quantities of metal money are issued in denominations of one, two and one hundred dinars. Coins of one fourth and one second dinar are even less often minted. In addition, there is commemorative metal money.
Also in use are coins of Algeria, the denomination of which is equal to one, two, five, twenty and fifty centimes. On the reverse of all coins is the face value. Below, under the digital designation, there is an inscription in Arabic that duplicates the denomination. The coinage year is placed on the sides of the face value according to two calendars - Gregorian and Muslim.
One, two and five centimes are made of aluminum, and twenty and fifty centimes coins are made of aluminum bronze. These materials are not too strong, therefore, the centimeters of Algeria are also short-lived. 
Among collectors-numismatists (especially in Russia) Algerian coins are not of great interest. They are rarely bought, and it is not so easy to find them on sale. Due to low demand, their cost is also low. Coins of a sample of centima can be bought at a price of ten to sixty rubles. The amount depends on the degree of preservation of the coin and its face value. The higher it is, the greater the cost. Commemorative and jubilee coins can cost quite differently, here the circulation and the degree of preservation, and the event or date to which the coin is dedicated, play a role.

The currency of Algeria is interesting for its colorfulness and Arabian exoticism. This attracts people, but for serious collectors, coins are not of great interest, so they are not very popular. In Russia, there are few people who are interested in the coins of this country. This is largely due to the fact that for the most part people have a weak idea of the country as a whole, its history, culture and geopolitics. Geographical remoteness and the lack of close trade and economic ties between Russia and Algeria also affect this.
