"You can’t go to the pool, gym, cafe": after the new rules, a friend quit school

Recently, I heard a story from a friend, the veracity of which I did not even immediately believe. Disagreements with the administration of the school in which she worked arose over the style of clothing. Honestly, I thought they would come to a common denominator. After all, such a situation is as old as the world: which of the employees did not have problems with the bosses? However, everything turned out to be more serious than it seemed initially.

Good teacher

My friend worked at a secondary school for thirteen years. She was repeatedly awarded the prize "Best Teacher". Her students have repeatedly won the Olympics. Relations with students and their parents also developed perfectly. The working team also quite satisfied my acquaintance. There have never been any conflicts with management. Imagine the friend’s surprise when she was called “to the carpet”.

New rules

The school principal announced that new rules are being introduced in the educational institution that must be met. If you do not stick to them, then you have to leave. And after that, the chef handed a piece of paper with these very innovations. The following items were included there:

  • It is not allowed to wear youthful and extravagant clothes: jeans, short skirts, T-shirts, sportswear, high-heeled shoes.
  • Piercing is prohibited (you can only wear earrings).
  • You cannot appear in public with men who are not husbands or relatives.
  • It is forbidden to visit fast foods like McDonald's, rock concerts, city beaches, pools, as well as attend abstract art exhibitions.

The bans were explained by the fact that students should take an example from their teachers. If they see the teacher in a different role (for example, in a black jacket at a heavy music festival or defiantly dressed in a park with some man), this will damage the educational process and ruin the ideal image of the teacher.

Final decision

Three teachers quit the same day after getting acquainted with the innovations. Two more people wrote statements of their own free will during the week (including my friend including). Thus, the school lost five teachers under the age of forty. Now they all work in private educational institutions where there are no such strict rules.

By the way, the administration of the former comprehensive school contacted them after a while and asked them to come back, because there are sorely lacking teachers. However, all teachers refused.

Here I like it: one acquaintance, new rules, administration ... NOT A SINGLE EXACT indication of the city, school, name of the head. Have you ever believed in this for a minute? And why did they begin to quit, and not turned to the prosecutor’s office? This story is from the category of "one of my acquaintances told me through acquaintances of acquaintances. Bullshit. And not too lazy to write nonsense, as if there were no other problems in education!

Such rules are part of the organization’s internal rules (annex to the Charter) and are adopted at the general meeting of the labor collective, and then registered with the relevant authorities, where they are checked for legal literacy. This may be more likely in a private school, but not in a general state (municipal) school.

Only a collective agreement is registered, which may not be in the organization, this is not a binding document, it is accepted, indeed, after negotiations with representatives of employees. And the rules of the internal labor schedule (TAP) are adopted solely by the employer, without asking anyone, the workers are only introduced to the TAP. If everything is completely done according to the rules, then global changes must be warned in 2 months, and if an employee does not want to work in new conditions, he will be dismissed under clause 7. part 1 of article 77 Labor Code of the Russian Federation with the payment of 2-week earnings (Article 178 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation)
