Headings

I am very shy and introverted, nervous when meeting new people. I’ll tell you how I was able to survive in the workplace and become the best employee

I am a shy person, so it’s hard for me to meet people. This is due to the fact that I am an introvert, so I rarely meet new people. Even while studying at the university, I had problems with communication. But after graduation, I realized that you need to change to cope with shyness at work. Only self-confident people can count on the title of best employee. Introverts rarely get promoted, as the boss usually pays attention to more confident and proactive professionals. Therefore, I suggest you use several ways to deal with excitement and stress.

Learn to praise yourself

Introverts rarely talk about their achievements and merits. This leads to the fact that more brisk employees of the companies easily appropriate other people's successes. Therefore, even if a person is very shy, he should still speak openly about his advantages, abilities, knowledge and skills.

Only this behavior will allow you to open up and talk freely with company customers. Clients always enthusiastically respond to employees who provide maximum information about the work of the enterprise.

Choose the right role for yourself

Since introverts cannot cope with public speaking or being in a crowd, you need to choose a job that offers limited communication with people. For example, if a person is literate and has artistic thinking, then he can become an editor, copywriter, or even writer. For such work, you can not meet outsiders at all, since the activity is implemented at home.

But even introverts can work in the office, coping with the many tasks that come from the leadership. You can demonstrate to your boss the existing skills in creating creative letters or implementing projects.

Exercise out of your comfort zone.

If a person wants to change, become more sociable and open, then he will have to constantly practice. It is important to regularly leave the comfort zone, for which you can meet friends, attend various social events, and also train directly in front of the mirror.

If an employee must speak at a general meeting, he can practice with friends or relatives. This will allow you to get used to the new working conditions, and also provides the opportunity to make many new friends. Even an introvert can surprise his colleagues with a bright and lively performance in public.

Build individual relationships with colleagues

Introverts find it difficult to build relationships with new people, so they feel uncomfortable at a new workplace. But they can target individual communication. In this way, they can get to know the whole work team. An individual relationship will be built with each employee, so the new specialist will feel comfortable in the work environment. Using this method, you can recognize all colleagues, as well as deal with shyness.

Take time only for yourself

Closed people like to spend time alone, so you should not concentrate too much on communication and building ties with the team. At lunchtime you can go for a walk, and also at any time you can find a little time for loneliness and understanding of their activities.

No need to prove to the world that you are a completely different person. Colleagues should realize that you feel good alone, as well as noisy parties and corporate parties make such a person leave the comfort zone.

If you use the above tips, you can cope with shyness at a new place of work. I was able to cope with my problems and modesty, so I am a valuable employee of the company.
