What is RVP?
A temporary residence permit or temporary residence permit is an official document due to which a foreign citizen can freely visit Russia, live here, work, study and in the future receive a residence permit.

- data on marital status and marriage certificate look like this: “married, I-HO series certificate of marriage No. 876543 was issued on 09.05.2014 by the State Registration Department of Civil Status Acts of the Main Department of Justice in the Donetsk Region”;
- address of residence of relatives indicate valid, and not by registration; the place of work should not contain unknown abbreviations or acronyms, for example, “place of work or study - Donetsk Metallurgical Plant”, instead of the generally accepted “DMZ”;
- information on labor activity is drawn up in ascending order: from a longer place of employment to a newer one;
- if there is a Russian TIN, it must also be indicated;
- in the column about the proposed labor activity write all possible positions that are suitable for your qualifications and experience;
- the source of funds may be from labor activity, from running one’s own business or from dependents, assistance from parents, the state, etc.
General guidelines for filling
The application is the main document for registration of the RVP; it creates a general migratory portrait of the applicant. The package of papers that will be attached to it serves as confirmation of everything that the applicant writes in the questionnaire.
A few nuances that are important when preparing a document:
- Avoid short yes or no answers.
- Write only the truth. If the employees of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs find inconsistencies in the documents, they may refuse to provide you with RVP.
- Do not exaggerate or be silent. All information submitted by you in the application can be double-checked.
- Fill out the questionnaire by hand, this will give you the opportunity to correct or add something if necessary.
- Write carefully so that the management employee can read and understand all the information.
- The information in the application should be clear and concise: firstly, you should have enough space, and secondly, the applicant does not need extra information or an artistic presentation.

Information submitted by the applicant in the questionnaire will be checked at least on the basis of copies of those papers that the migrant submits with the application.
Application Review Period
The application is checked by the employee of the department immediately after filing with the applicant himself. If any inaccuracies are found, the application is returned for revision to the foreign citizen. An application for the issuance of a SIA is considered within 2 months for citizens of states with visa-free entry into the country and 6 months for persons who entered Russia on a visa. Terms of consideration may vary slightly. Notification of the decision is sent to the applicant by mail.
