Spring and autumn - it's time for annual recruiting events. It is known that patriotism alone is not enough to serve in the army. The conscript must also have good health. In order to find out how fit the young man is to perform military service, he should undergo a medical examination. In the event that health does not meet the norm, recruits receive appropriate categories of restrictions on military service. About the legislative framework
According to Russian law, every citizen has the right to serve in the army. However, in various types of troops, certain requirements come into force when recruiting military personnel. The main task of the medical board is to determine whether the conscript is ready to master the military profession, and which one, and also assign him the appropriate category. It will be clear from it whether a person has a restriction on military service or is ready to serve only in peacetime.
Who will not be taken into the army?

About classification
The fact that the conscript is fit for military service with minor restrictions is indicated on the military ticket. For each case, a specific category is provided:
- Category "A" indicates that the conscript has perfect health and external indicators. Such a person is a contender for the most elite units. However, perfectly healthy people are rare. Therefore, four clarifying points are provided for this category. But nevertheless, if the category “A” is on the military ticket, then such a conscript does not have restrictions on military service. A person is considered absolutely healthy when there is a record: “A1”, “A2”, “A3”, “A4”.
- Category B indicates that there are minor restrictions on military service. Such a person is called upon under general conditions.
- Holders of category "B" will carry out non-combat service.
- If the conscript is undergoing treatment and it is not possible to determine the category, then the category “G” is entered in the column. In this case, the person has the right to receive a respite.
About military record
Doctors in the military enlistment office, in order to determine the degree of suitability, use a special table of diseases. It has three columns. The most common is the first. There they enter information about draftees and citizens of pre-draft age. In the second column - about the military in stock. The third column is provided for military personnel who have signed the contract.
About the degrees of category "A"
Holders of this category are taken to special forces and marines. Also, such a conscript is suitable for landing troops. The highest score is considered “A1”. The first degree indicates perfect health. It is given to those who do not have any restrictions on their fitness for military service. The second degree is received by recruits after a serious illness that led to a decrease in the field of view (no more than 20 degrees). The airborne troops and the marines are closed to them. The third degree is assigned to young people with minor visual impairment. Place of their service: missile, chemical and internal troops.The fourth degree indicates problems with vision (narrowing of the peripheral boundaries of the field of view exceeds 20 degrees). According to experts, having passed the course of laser correction, it is quite possible to move from the fourth category to the second.
About the degrees of category "B"
Mostly almost all military personnel and conscripts fall into this category. Since most of the young people examined have any health problems, a certain restriction on military service is provided for them, depending on the degree of the disease. Category “B1” is assigned to draftees who have a mild illness or allergy. Since these diseases cannot affect the general physical condition, young people with the B1 category are taken to the border troops and assault brigades. "B2" is assigned to those who, in addition to allergies or any other minor deviation, have a slight visual impairment. Not to become such a submarine. Mostly young people with the B2 category serve in the surface fleet, engineering and tank troops.
Conscripts who, in addition to allergies, also have hearing and vision problems, are assigned the category "B3", which implies a more extended restriction on military service. Young people can serve in the engineering, chemical and communications forces. Category "B4" is assigned to draftees with insufficient weight or height. In addition, this category is obtained by those who have residual effects after illnesses or injuries that manifest themselves in significantly impaired vision and hearing. With this category, you can only serve in the battalion. However, this term does not apply today. Now such troops are called military construction units or communications troops. Young people who are assigned the category "B" always get into the army, but to which troops it will depend on the degree of manifestation of their disease.
About category "B"
In accordance with Russian law, young people with this category can be called up for service exclusively in wartime. This is due to the fact that a person with a significant impairment of health is physically unable to give all 24 hours a day. Such a conscript is limited to military service.
About category "G"
This category is assigned in controversial cases when it is not possible to accurately determine the suitability of a draftee. The reason for this may be the presence of trauma or an untreated disease in the subject. In this case, the young man receives a reprieve and undergoes a course of treatment. After this, the conscript will be sent for a second medical examination. Experienced experts advise not to consider category “G” as a sentence. As practice has shown, recruits who have undergone treatment and rehabilitation, on re-examination, predominantly receive a new category, which often becomes final.
About category "D"
This restriction category is equivalent to a “white” ticket. The conscript is not able to serve in peacetime or in wartime. According to experts, the owner of this category may have problems obtaining a driver’s license.
About Diseases
The following is a list of the most common diseases in young people, the presence of which implies a limitation of fitness for military service:
- The second and higher stages of scoliosis. The spine is twisted more than 11 degrees.
- The third stage is flat feet.
- The second stage of arthrosis.
- Retinal problems, resulting in partial loss of vision.
- Increased blood pressure.
- Hearing loss of both one ear and two.
- The presence of a malignant tumor.
Limitations are also provided for chronic pancreatitis, hernia, schizophrenia and various mental disorders, diabetes mellitus, vegetative-vascular insufficiency, hemorrhoids, respiratory disorders, congenital or acquired heart defects, arrhythmias, immunodeficiency syndrome and hepatitis C.

According to the employees of the military registration and enlistment offices, there are frequent cases when the fitness category assigned after a medical examination does not suit the recruits. Getting a prestigious job and a driver’s license for such young people is in question.
