The HR officer with great experience told which resumes attract the attention of employers and what repels them

Experience, skills, talents - all this, unfortunately, does not yet guarantee a job. Much depends on whether a person can write a resume. Those who are faced with this will surely benefit from the advice of a personnel officer with great experience. The article describes which resumes are considered good and bad by HR managers.

Negligence

Negligence is not at all the quality that potential employers want to see in their employees. Often it is discovered even at the stage of reading a resume, as a result of which it does not reach the interview.

Outdated information, errors, typos - all this indicates the negligence of the compiler. Also, personnel officers can be annoyed by the lack of attention to detail.

A lot of text

The summary should not resemble a chapter from a multi-volume work. Do not make it too long, otherwise it will not be read to the end.

Personnel officers with experience recommend avoiding the abundance of adjectives that complicate the text. Also, do not oversaturate the resume with professional terms.

Lack of examples

A resume, the compiler of which focuses on his personal qualities, and not on achievements, is unlikely to attract an experienced personnel officer.

No need to write about your responsibility, sociability, ability to work in a team and other useful qualities. It is better to give examples that confirm their presence. For example, a person can list successfully completed group projects in which he took part. This will be the best proof of his ability to work in a team.

Wrong accents

Many job seekers in the resume are limited to listing their responsibilities at their previous job. They forget that HR managers are interested in real achievements, not job descriptions.

No need to write about what the person was responsible for at the previous place of work. This does not mean that he brilliantly coped with all his duties. It is better to focus on what the candidate has achieved, what experience has gained.

Patterns

Template resumes, samples of which are easy to find on the Internet, are accustomed to receive all HR personnel with experience. More often than not, people who use them do not even receive interview invitations.

A resume drawn up according to the template does not say anything about the personality of the candidate. No one wants to waste time on a pig in a poke.

Too much contact information

Of course, a person should include contact information in his resume. He needs to write an address, phone number and email. This is quite enough, but many people are not limited to this. They list several telephones for communication, indicate the addresses of their pages on social networks. This complicates the work of personnel officers, which can lead to a negative attitude towards them.

Good resume, what is it

You can call a good resume, in the preparation of which the mistakes listed above are not allowed. Candidate information should be presented in a clear and structured manner. The emphasis should be on their real achievements, and not on personal qualities.

It is very important that the information is current. You cannot send resumes with old phone numbers and so on. Time needs to be allocated to ensure that there are no errors or typos.
