How to become significant at work, even if you do not have talent: be able to capture attention and other tips

Let's face it: talent is somewhat overestimated. The world is full of incredibly talented people who remain unknown. At the same time, absolutely mediocre people who have crowds of fans sometimes attract our attention.

The same is true in the workplace. A typical company is full of brilliant, creative people who cannot budge by doing routine work or supporting their less talented but more successful colleagues. And at the same time, in every organization there is always one or two people who may not be so talented, but who manage to shine brightly, no matter what happens.

These people, of course, can be compared with rock stars. This is not to say that there are no outstanding personalities (in music and in the workplace) who really have talent. It's just that these abilities, to be honest, are not as important as the ability to stand out from the crowd. Read on how to get this privilege, no matter how many talents you actually have.

Develop a unique personal style

The stars in the music industry have distinctive features that help to immediately identify them. It may be their clothing style, a special hairstyle. It could be anything. The idea is to create a look that will be unique and memorable.

Stars in the business world do the same. The most obvious example is signature black trousers and a black Steve Jobs turtleneck. Other interesting ideas include the choice of a completely white costume, dramatic makeup even in the daytime (like Dita von Teese), an unusual hat that is changed at every exhibition or meeting.

Radiate self-confidence

Even if you are incredibly talented, in order to get on stage and start singing, you need a lot of arrogance and self-confidence. Especially if your talent is mediocre. The only way to survive in the face of enormous competition and stand out from the crowd is to be incredibly confident. Your audience will accept you only because of your high self-esteem.

The same is true in the workplace. When you are 100% sure that you can add value to absolutely any project or situation, most people will think that this is true. Indeed, the career of many stars in the workplace is based entirely on supporting and promoting the great ideas of other, more talented people.

Define what people want to hear

Truly talented people, as a rule, work hard to improve their craft, and this is completely normal if you love this business for his own sake. Stars, however, have an unmistakable sense of what people want to hear, and then give them what they want. Therefore, they are not only famous, but also rich.

At work, “giving them what they want” means becoming a representative of those ideas and projects that are most likely to receive funding and management attention. This is not a theft of your colleague’s project. The star assigned to the project allows him to gain better visibility and can give the common cause the necessary impetus, cohesion. Such a direction will be more likely to become successful. Indeed, a bright personality, self-confident, infects with its positive attitude and everyone around. As a result, the team will work more productively.

Introduce each member of your “group”

When rock stars perform at a concert, they always pay due attention to their group, introducing each by name and allowing them to perform a short solo. This is really important. Moreover, the star does not just look cute.Celebrities know what their group is doing to make the show unforgettable and vibrant. So it’s better to create all the conditions so that all members of your team feel happy and proud to be on the same stage with you.

Similarly, if you are a star at work, you must constantly and publicly give credit and praise everyone who works with you and for you. If you are truly sincere, your colleagues will not be offended by your fame, but instead will actively cooperate with you on the same team.

These key aspects highlight not just a leader, but a vibrant personality that is respected and appreciated by both employees and superiors. The talent to remain noticeable, to stand out from the others is one of the most important success factors in a business or other other field of activity.
