After analyzing the market, my friend found out that the most promising places to place it are:

  3. On highways, gas stations, near roadside hotels and catering, subject to the availability of parking.

It is worth noting that it is quite difficult to find a good point with the absence of competitors, but, as you know, nothing is impossible.

In addition to the classic tire fitting, my friend was considering another option - truck tire fitting. It is most convenient to place in the immediate vicinity of truckers or at the entrance to the city. However, it should be borne in mind that opening such a business requires larger investments, since the cost of equipment is higher, but competition here will be lower and payment for services will be more expensive.

What are the prospects

If we talk about increasing the stationary tire business, the prospects here are rather vague. Of course, it is possible in the future to establish a whole network of workshops with this kind of services, but you should not count on the fact that customers will go to your tire shop. The fact is that wheels, as a rule, are done the same everywhere, and even if you lower the price tag for services, the flow of customers cannot be increased. Car owners choose a service location for its location and loading.

More recently, car repair shop owners have begun to offer seasonal tire storage services to increase customer loyalty. However, tire fitting does not have such an opportunity due to the small area. To do this, you need to equip an additional warehouse, which requires investment.

The only real scaling option that Igor saw was opening a car service with a range of services, including tire fitting, washing, and so on.

But to make money on one tire fitting to invest in such a large project is simply impossible. Therefore, this business is more suitable for people who want to have a small but stable income with moderate investment. The crisis does not affect him, and even, on the contrary, people do not seek to buy a new car, doing repair of the existing one.

The procedure for opening a tire business is not much different from other areas of activity. So, my friend went through such stages:

  1. To begin with, it is necessary to analyze the competitive environment, draw up a comparative table of prices and services, mark the points of tire shops on the map of your city and select the areas where there are the smallest number of them, but there is a prospect for the development of a client base.
  2. Prepare a business plan taking into account all the costs of the project.
  3. Find a suitable room or rent a trailer. It is also possible to purchase a prefabricated structure and install it in a selected place, however, this will require permission from the authorities responsible for urban planning.

Another problem that my friend faced in this business is the bad habits of staff, including alcohol addiction. According to experienced entrepreneurs, creating a close-knit team can take a lot of time. My friend decided to act like this: to reduce staff turnover and motivate staff, he offered employees a salary plus a percentage of the total cash.

Advertising

As practice has shown, the best advertisement in this business is a correctly chosen place and a sign that attracts attention. But it would be useful to place ads in a newspaper, distribute leaflets, and so on. When creating a banner, business cards and other advertising paraphernalia, you need to choose bright colors that will not go unnoticed by motorists.

If the tire service is away from the road, advertisements are placed on the road (a banner on a post, a stretch along the roadway). Place ads in 2GIS, Google Maps. Very often, people search for the location of a tire fitting from a mobile device.

What is the income from the business?

Igor, as the owner of a tire service, has an income of 700 to 1,000 dollars per month (from 44 to 63 thousand rubles). Investments in the workshop paid off within a year.
