This unusual story tells about a man who found his biological mother 47 years after birth.
A story that began 47 years ago
47 years ago, in a regular American hospital, a 14-year-old girl gave birth to a son. It is not known for certain what her child had with her father, but the girl clearly understood that she herself could not raise a baby.
Therefore, when it came time to discharge from the maternity ward, the girl signed a waiver from her newborn son and gave her consent to adoption. A few days later, the boy was found foster parents, and he went to live in another state.
Life in a foster home
The family of Guerrero, who adopted the boy, called him Christian and began to raise him as his own son. They never hid from the boy that he was adopted, but for over 40 years he did not even think about finding his biological mother.
However, one day he received an unusual gift for Christmas: a DNA detection kit.
DNA test
In America, there is a company that allows you to find relatives around the world. This company produces DNA kits. It is only necessary to collect a small amount of saliva on a cotton swab, seal it tightly and send it to the company office. After 6-8 weeks, the company sends the result of the work: the place where the person was born, and the family tree (even this is easy to do, because there are about 700,000 DNA samples from around the world in the database).
A DNA search company helps not only find loved ones, but also identifies their roots. People can find out what kind of blood mixed in them, whether there are Native Americans or immigrants from other countries among their ancestors.
In some cases, the company provides free test kits if the adopted child does not have the financial ability to purchase one.
Search for relatives
After submitting his DNA for testing, Christian began looking for a birth certificate. Since the adoptive mother of the man had already died by then, Christian had to face some difficulties. Firstly, he could not get the document right away, because he did not have the opportunity to grant permission to receive a certificate from foster parents. Secondly, those laws that were valid for the state of Maryland in which the man lived may not be applicable for another state. In general, one could get informal paper, but for this it was necessary to know the name of the biological mother, which the man could not recognize again due to the death of the adoptive mother.
Having received, however, documents and DNA results, the man still did not know where to look for his biological mother. Then he turned to Facebook, where he found a community in which people were looking for their relatives. After talking with some people who managed to find their relatives, Christian realized that he needed the help of a geneologist.
Soon, the right specialist was found. He immediately got down to work and after some time presented the man with photographs of several women who could be his mother.
In one of the photos, Chris saw a woman who absolutely had to be his mother. As the man said later, something skipped a beat in his chest when he saw her.Perhaps, between them there was always some kind of invisible eye connection, which appeared at the right time.
Long-awaited meeting
The woman in the photo really turned out to be his biological mother. At first they talked on the phone several times, and then made an appointment. Christian bought a bunch of flowers along the way and was very excited. But as soon as he saw her, the excitement vanished, he threw himself into her arms, and for a few minutes they just stood in an embrace, not even trying to wipe the tears that rolled from both eyes.
Mother told Christian her story, and he did not blame her for leaving him. She, in turn, thanked God that he gave her son loving parents who never opposed the will of the boy and did not even mind when he chose an unusual profession. As it turned out, Christian is a professional shepherd of sheep.
The woman told her son that she was very upset that she had to leave him. A few years ago, she also decided to try to find him, but she did not know whether this would work out, because the new parents could take the boy anywhere and never tell him that he was not their own.
Chris came to the meeting with his wife, who supported her husband all the time while he was looking for his mother. She even helped the man find some adoption papers in Texas, where, as it turned out, Christian was born.
When the man finally hugged his mother, he realized how restless he had been all this time, what a huge hole was in his heart. Only next to a loved one this hole began to fill.
