For the most part, employees expect managers to lead everything. But anyone who has ever worked for a disorganized, distracted, or simply overworked boss knows how hard it is to understand what exactly is expected of him.

When your manager is terribly busy, or, like the vast majority of other bosses, simply removed, fulfilling your job responsibilities can be a little more difficult if, for one of these reasons, employees do not know what to expect from them.

Of course, you do not want to offend the managerial style of your boss. But you cannot let problems get out of hand. When bad situations materialize, or, even better, just try to show up, politely inform your boss about it. He will appreciate your initiative.

Learning to be a source of help

When you establish a trusting relationship with your boss, he may begin to turn to you for help when the need arises. Find out the areas that your boss is most likely to encounter, and do everything you can to position yourself as someone who can always eliminate weakness when necessary. The easier you can do the work of your boss, the easier your own will become.

Remember that management does not mean licking. This is easy to detect and, in spite of your best intentions, can do more harm than good to your relationship.

But by managing efficiently, you will certainly earn recognition from your boss. He will not only respect your efforts to facilitate their work, but will also recognize your far-sighted abilities and will remember you the next time you have the opportunity to increase. And, of course, your own work will become more enjoyable, and your career will go uphill.
