We go on a budget trip, or Save on souvenirs and learn to bargain with sellers

All travelers must bring memorable souvenirs from trips. It's no secret that souvenir merchants go to sell it as expensive as possible, and tourists want to save on their purchase. In order not to pay too much, before the trip, read the tips of experienced travelers.

Decide on the price you are willing to pay

In the world there are many markets with lively trade, where the initial price for any product is designed for the tourist to pay any amount for it. But in most places, such as Marrakech, Bangkok, Shanghai, it is customary to bargain in the markets. And there you can well buy the thing you are interested in 50% cheaper.

If you are not familiar with the real value of the most popular souvenirs on the Internet, you can find them on the spot. Talk to your guide, hotel owner, taxi driver, waiter in a cafe. You will be helped to navigate the prices in local markets, how much you can save on a particular subject. Such advice is especially important if you plan to purchase a carpet, items of clothing, jewelry.

Do not bring large bills to the market

In the market in any country where many tourists come, there are always traditionally a lot of souvenirs. First, decide what you would like to buy as a keepsake and bring as a gift to your friends. Then go around several tents with similar souvenirs and check the prices. From them, choose the one in which the product you have chosen is cheaper. If you can bargain in this market, try to persuade the merchant to lower the price.

Before going shopping, learn some basic phrases in the language of the country you came to. Merchants like it. Do not be afraid of the initial cost of the goods. If you bargain, the seller can reduce the price by half, or even three times. So you can buy, for example, two or three souvenirs for the price of one. This is a real savings.

Put only small bills in your wallet. In this case, you can tell the merchant that they are limited to a certain amount. Seeing you have large bills, no one wants to bargain with you.

Do not stay near one tent

When the seller announced the prices for the items that you have chosen, let him know that they are surprised at their high cost. Try to persuade him to sell the product cheaper. Especially if you previously familiarized yourself on the Internet with the real value of the souvenirs you wanted to purchase. Do not try to argue with a seller who does not intend to drop the price of his goods. Go to another tent. There, the owner may be more accommodating, and the price can offer much more profitable.

If the seller is ready to lower the price, but not as much as you would like, it is quite possible to choose the average cost.

Best to go to market before closing

If you come to the market by the end of the working day, many merchants will gladly sell you their product cheaper. After all, who will refuse additional profit when the stores are already closing.

One more tip. If someone you know is interested in buying the same souvenirs as you, go to the store or market together. After all, the more identical units of goods you buy in one place, the greater discount you can get.
