The guy saved up for a wedding for a year, while not having a permanent job: you can repeat it, but you need an iron extract

A wedding is not a cheap pleasure, and not everyone can save on it. However, a young man from Malaysia proved that with a low salary this can be done. If you really want to ...

Great desires and small opportunities

A resident of Kuala Lumpur (the capital of Malaysia) Luckman Afifi has a monthly salary of about 1,400 yuan (about 14,000 rubles). By the standards of this country, his work is rather low paid. And he works as a freelance video editor. His income was unstable and sometimes amounted to less than 1,400 yuan per month. This happened if he could not find enough orders. The instability of earnings is the trouble of most freelancers, and this young man was no exception.

During the year, he practically did not spend the money he earned, putting aside everything for a future wedding. As a result, the amount accumulated over the year amounted to 18,000 yuan (about 180 thousand rubles). He told about his story on a page on Twitter, which has gained great popularity.

At only 24 years old, he was obsessed with determination to cheerfully and tastefully celebrate the wedding with his lover. And since this required a lot of money, he tried to save it with all his might. The guy took on any available order, even if it did not seem too profitable. To save money, he opened as many as 2 accounts at the bank: one for savings, and the other for expenses. As for the latter, on them he separated only a fifth of the money earned.

How did he save

Throughout the year before the wedding, he avoided any trips and meetings where he would have to fork out. He lived in a crowded apartment, but he paid less for rent.

As for food, the young man tried to eat as simple as possible, for example, chicken, sometimes with an egg. However, it was still better than eating white rice. He also had to spend a little on gas for his motorcycle. In total, about 100 yuan (1000 rubles) a month was spent on food and fuel. The amount is very small, so we can assume that the prices of products there are lower than ours.

So he lived for a year, and in the end he was lucky to receive 2 well-paid orders, which in total added from 4,000 to 5,000 yuan (40-50 thousand rubles) to his wedding piggy bank.

How the efforts of the young man were evaluated

His wife and family were not demanding of the splendor of a wedding party, as they were aware of his financial situation. As for the users of the Network, they highly appreciated the persistence and determination shown to them and wrote in the comments that not everyone in his financial situation could save up so quickly on his wedding day. Although there were those who criticized him. To which Luckman replied that he simply wanted to share his experience and get advice from friends.

A happy ending

The photographs laid out show that they happily celebrated their wedding celebration and that not so many guests were invited. Apparently, they decided to have a wedding with their family and close friends.

Probably, such selflessness is characteristic of Asian peoples to a greater extent than European ones. To burden yourself all year for one wedding day does not seem to be a very reasonable and rational decision. It would be much more correct to invest the accumulated funds in something more useful and promising, especially since his income after the wedding is unlikely to increase. Therefore, from the point of view of common sense, this was not quite the right decision.
