The Russians are showing more and more interest in large-screen smartphones. Svyaznoy provided data according to which smartphone sales increased by 45% compared to the six-month period last year.
Over the past six months, Russians have bought almost 8 million smartphones with a screen whose diagonal is more than 5.6 inches. A total of 156 billion rubles were paid for gadgets. At the same time, compared with last year, the cost of a smartphone decreased by 30%, amounting to approximately 20 thousand rubles. Retailers managed to sell 17 million smartphones; revenue is measured at 216 billion rubles.
TOP 5 smartphones
Svyaznoy conducted a study according to which the most popular smartphone was the Honor 8X. In the hearts and hands of customers, the second place went to Honor 10 Lite, and the third went to the Samsung Galaxy A7. In the top five, Honor 7A PRO was in fourth place, and Samsung Galaxy A50 in fifth.
Flagship smartphones are produced mainly in the category of phablets - models with a large screen, but in parallel with them, manufacturers are launching simplified lines with displays less than 5.6 inches. Over the past few years, the screen diagonal has been increasing from quarter to quarter. Today, the mass share of sales falls on gadgets with a screen of 5 inches, while previously smartphones with a 4-inch display were considered massive. The trend is slowly but surely shifting towards models with a screen of 5.6 inches, which affects sales.
