Secrets of successful negotiations. Entrepreneurs shared examples of how they managed to reach consensus on contentious issues.

When searching for a job, applicants first of all pay attention to the level of salary, schedule, bonuses. However, most perceive this information as something stable and indestructible. Do you know that a candidate has the opportunity to improve working conditions? But for this you need to be able to properly negotiate. Caroline Keniza-Levin has been a recruiting manager for many years and knows what leverage the candidate needs to put pressure to get the dream job. Here are three real-life examples and three lessons of success on how to negotiate properly.

1. Salary bidding

Caroline once interviewed a woman who claimed to be a marketing manager. In the conversation, the applicant was not too flexible, but her knowledge and skills were fully consistent with the requirements of the employer. At the end of the interview, the woman said: “I promised myself that I would not accept a job offer until I found out if there was a possibility of a salary increase?”

Caroline in her heart admired the straightforwardness of the applicant. Since the duties of the recruiter do not include bidding for salaries, she turned to the boss and asked if there was an opportunity to increase the rate. You will be surprised, but the boss agreed to throw a few thousand rubles on top.

Lesson

Some people are very shy about voicing their thoughts, fears and concerns. But in vain. You will not be able to negotiate properly if you are afraid to be rejected and hear rejection. You can’t even imagine what opportunities are opening up for you if you simply voiced your question of interest.

2. Schedule and bonuses

One guy came to get a job as a development manager. At the same time, he was completing some academic studies with the aim of obtaining a further diploma and certificate. Scientific activity was very important for him, so he immediately told the employer that on such a date he begins to work on the project and will not be able to work in the office full time. Then he asked if there was a possibility of switching to a more flexible schedule. The employer went forward.

The candidate was delighted, and then read the contract and found out that the first working day coincides with the start date of work on the project. If he is hired now, that is, a month before the start of work and research, then next month he will receive bonuses, and if not, then there will be no allowances and incentives. And what do you think? And then the employer got into a position and got the guy to work right after the interview.

Lesson

Carefully read the employment contract and study each item. You should be well aware of what bonuses and allowances you are entitled to, what you have the right to apply for, and what not, etc. If you do not study this data, then you will lose both in money and in working conditions. You should know that there is always an opportunity to come to an agreement. Well, if you even face a refusal, then draw conclusions for yourself whether it makes sense, in principle, to begin cooperation with this employer.

3. Valuable knowledge

The intern girl came to get a job and asked for a full-time job interview. Moreover, she estimated her work not at 700 rubles per hour, but at 1300 rubles per hour. Surprisingly, the employer agreed to its terms, although the applicant did not have the necessary work experience. How did she do it? She convinced the bosses that she really had the necessary knowledge, had the appropriate education.Since the employer really needed an employee, and there were no other candidates from this sphere, he made concessions.

Lesson

Do not be afraid that you do not have work experience. Interviewing is something like self-promotion. Present yourself so that the employer is really interested in you. Focus on your strengths, not the flaws.
