Treasures of the Smolensk Bank and Varyagin gold: 5 real treasures not yet found in Russia

On the territory of Russia, as you know, over the past centuries there has simply been a huge number of very different historical events. Riots, revolutions, wars - our country's gold reserves alone moved several times. On the territory of Russia, so many treasures can be hidden that anyone can really find any of them. Below we present to the reader a selection of 5 such treasures that have not yet been discovered by anyone.

1. The production of Lenka Panteleev

One of the most famous raiders of St. Petersburg, Lenka Panteleev, during his lifetime was considered by the people as something like Robin Hood. This former Chekist was operating in the city on the Neva for several years and really tried to rob only the rich.

Once Lenka decided to tie up with his criminal life. However, before this, the hijacker organized more than 30 major robberies in just 2 months. February 12, 1923, during one of these raids, Lenka was shot dead by the KGB.

Subsequently, the values plundered by Panteleev were not found. It is known that everything that Lenka “expropriated” from the rich, he hid somewhere in the Ligovsky catacombs, as well as in the cellars of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra. In these places, some people have already found values. However, Panteleev’s main treasure is still located somewhere in these dungeons. According to historians, in total, Lenka once robbed valuables of 300 thousand dollars.

2. Gold Kolchak

As you know, at the beginning of the last century, Kolchak managed to intercept the gold reserves of Russia sent to Kazan. Subsequently, the white admiral tried to transport gold to Siberia by train. During the transportation of the ingots, Kolchak’s composition was attacked several times. Part of the gold was lost.

The largest raid on the train was organized by the Bolsheviks. The Reds managed to recapture half the gold from Kolchak. But the admiral still managed to hide a huge number of ingots somewhere in Siberia, the total weight of which, according to historians, is about 200 tons. At present, Kolchak’s treasure is presumably in the area of Lake Baikal, somewhere in the vicinity of the village of Taiga.

3. Treasures of the Smolensk Bank

During the Second World War, before the Germans captured Smolensk, the leadership of the USSR decided to remove gold and jewelry from a local bank. After the treasures were loaded into trucks, the convoy moved towards Vyazma.

As a result, only 5 out of 8 cars with valuables reached the village of Otnosovo. Over the years, treasure hunters have literally rummaged through all the surrounding forests. However, the treasures of the Smolensk Bank, the total value of which, according to experts, is about $ 5 million, were never found. Some treasure hunters found small caches in these places, obviously from Smolensk values. However, the main lost treasure is still buried somewhere in the forest.

4. Golden horses of Batu

According to an existing legend, once Batu Khan ordered his fellow tribesmen to melt all the gold looted in the conquered territories into horse statues. As a result, two life-size golden horses were smelted by the Mongols. According to legend, these horses for some time stood near the gates of the capital of the Golden Horde - Saray-Batu.

After the death of Batu, the golden horses were inherited by the khan of Mamaia. According to legend, this ruler, unfortunately, could not hold the treasures in his hands. Having lost the Battle of Kulikovo, Mamai began to retreat in a hurry. Khan warriors, of course, could not bring heavy horses with them.

So that the Russians did not get the golden statues, the Mongols decided to bury them.According to the legend, one of the horses was put into the grave of Mamai himself. The second horse, according to legend, was buried in a nearby mound. It is believed that the tomb of Mamaia is located somewhere near Akhtuba. However, for sure this, of course, is not known to anyone.

There is also a legend according to which one of the horses from the Horde was stolen by Cossacks. Upon learning of the incident, the Mongols organized a chase and completely killed the detachment. However, they failed to return the golden horse. Near the mountain of corpses of Cossacks, the Mongols did not find statues.

According to some modern researchers, the Cossacks would hardly have managed to bury the golden horse. Therefore, many treasure hunters believe that before the battle with the Horde, the statue was simply drowned in the river.

5. Flooded Gold

At the beginning of the last century, the Russian vessel Varyagin transported some particularly valuable cargo across the Pacific Ocean, as well as 60 thousand rubles in gold. On the way from Vladivostok to Sukhodol Bay, the ship stumbled upon an old mine and sank.

Of the 250 people aboard the ship, only 15 were saved then, including the captain. Part of the treasures transported on the Varyagin in 1913 was found and raised from the bottom of the sea. But a large proportion of the values found, unfortunately, have never been. Particularly valuable cargo and a certain amount of gold rubles still lie on the bottom of the sea in the Ussuri Bay, between the Three stones, Sukhodol Bay and Mount Vargli.

The search area of this treasure is actually not too large. However, no one has yet been found willing to invest in organizing his searches. Currently, the construction of a coal terminal is planned in the Ussuri Bay. And this, of course, is unlikely to facilitate the task of search engines.

An even bigger problem for treasure hunters can be the nearby nuclear submarine base. In any case, the holds of Varyagin (it is known that the ship is currently covered with sand) has not yet been examined by anyone. So people who decided to find a once-sunken treasure may be really lucky.
