Headings

Fear of failure prevented me from starting my own business. Just one conversation with a former boss helped me become a better version of myself and fulfill my dream

For a long time I have been thinking about the idea of how to start my own business. But in practice it turned out that it is very difficult to take the first steps to realize your dream. Suddenly a state of panic arose. What happens if I can’t do this job? I don’t have enough money to start this business! I do not know if I have everything that is required to do everything necessary. Indeed, it was scary that one could fail. Fortunately, I accidentally met with my former boss, an experienced businessman, and shared my problems. His self-help tips were invaluable and helped put things in place, get rid of fear and develop an effective plan.

Major weaknesses

Life with an eye on others: when you have your own project, you want to show it to the world, you must understand that not everyone will see it the same way you do, and that this may be why they criticize it, and this is where fear begins fail. The mind begins to give out thoughts like: “If I listened to someone, everything would be better”, “Someone already tried, but nothing worked out for him. Why do I need this? ”,“ What will they think of me when I fail? ”

Negativism: you did not start your project when you are already abandoning it; you did not start with a brainstorming session when you are close to the idea of achieving it; You don’t take risks, because you’re simply not trying; You are afraid of failure, because everything is going wrong; you do not give yourself the opportunity to show yourself what you have done, because fear interferes with you, so the most important thing is to change your mindset.

Your success is related to your mental and economic capabilities. Indeed, money is a fundamental tool, but that’s not all, you need to realize that your abilities go beyond your specialization, the thirst to learn and manage a project. They can lead you to success, no need to stagnate because of money or lack of a name.

Possible solutions

Focus on yourself: do not think about what others will say, do not stay with the desire to try, bet on yourself and believe that you can achieve this. You can get the best support only from yourself, you need to believe in your business, and even if something goes wrong, remember that you did everything to succeed, and you can continue to try, because satisfaction is from that your dream has come true is worth it.

Be realistic: coming up with a negative or positive world will ultimately lead to disappointment, you know what obligation you have made, and taking this as a guideline, you can be sure that everything will work out, remember that extremes are bad.

Prepare and study your project: if you do not know what to do to start your project, look for specialists; if you do not want third parties to participate in this, study and expand your knowledge in this area, no one knows better than you what your strengths and weaknesses are and what you should strive for in order to succeed and avoid failure.

Failure is not bad

We all failed at some point and felt that our dreams were crumbling. If you have reached this point, do not get depressed, look inside and find the strength in yourself to start from scratch, because you are capable and deserve it. Your biggest enemy is fear, and you must overcome it, and when you defeat it, you will perceive it as a scratch that will heal over time.

From sports to business

This technique came from sports. It is used in strength training, this means a periodic increase in weight, intensity or duration of the exercise to stimulate muscle growth. This happens gradually over a period of time, so that the body has time for rest, recovery and growth. Your body adapts to changes over time, so the increase does not affect your system and does not cause real damage to the muscles. A friend of mine recommended using the principles of this technique to successfully start a business.

Progressive Overload Technique

  1. Choose the following three main projects or goals. Work in 13-week increments and focus on three main goals during this period. It is short enough to retain enthusiasm for projects or goals, and does not take much time to lose momentum. Focusing on three tasks during this process is manageable. I divide each of them into smaller goals for each week.
  2. Identify the “educational gaps” that need to be filled to make this project possible. For example, Internet marketing, public speaking, creating a product, starting a business, improving relationships.
  3. Choose your educational resources. Look for the best podcasts, YouTube videos, authors, educators, and experts as part of these educational gaps, and then make a list that you can reach. Listen to a podcast daily while swimming, driving to work, or walking. Sign up for regular or online courses. Watch a video on YouTube to fill the knowledge gap and read or listen to books during training.
  4. Decide who you must become in order to achieve these goals. Do you need to be polite, trained, satisfied, confident, motivated?
  5. Perform Quickfire imaging daily to prepare your brain in the general direction you are moving. Visualize the person you are becoming, the achievement of your goals, and the ease and joy that you will experience along the way. Also visualize any problem you may encounter and deal effectively with style and grace. This allows you to become what you become and focus your mind on the changes you need to make, instead of rushing, only to return to the place where you started, like a boomerang.
