“I'll quit, I'm tired!”: 7 steps to take before writing a statement

There is no ideal job, but the frankly poor working conditions with low wages under the boss-boss have forced many people to go in search of a more acceptable place. There is no guarantee that it will be better, but in some cases there is no other chance. However, the decision to dismiss must be carefully prepared.

Here are just a few preparatory steps that it is advisable to take for those who decide to part with their current work.

1. Definition of further plans

It is impossible to know how things will go in the future, but it makes sense to outline at least rough guidelines. After dismissal, many feel a sense of emptiness, as the usual way of life has changed, free time has appeared, but there are no clear goals in terms of building a career. It is important to understand how this period can be used. If you decide to immediately go for an interview in a new company, then you need to draw up requirements for a new job and prepare a resume. But experts also advise not to rush to monitor vacancies. This gap in experience can be used for introspection, the development of new skills, advanced training, or simply devote this time to the family.

2. Analysis of the reasons for dismissal

Anything can become a concrete motive - from the character of the same boss to the lack of prospects for professional growth. To begin with, it is worth understanding whether this reason is an insurmountable factor. For example, having learned about such a decision of a valuable employee, perhaps the manager will meet and decide to improve some of his working conditions. At a minimum, it makes sense to initiate such a conversation without losing anything.

3. Parting on a positive note

Some employees, in anticipation of their dismissal the last days at work, are trying in every possible way to "recoup" on colleagues and the same boss for the accumulated grievances. But this is not worth doing - on the contrary, maintaining strong ties with former colleagues can later become a positive factor. In modern conditions of the business environment, the one who has more reliable and useful contacts wins.

4. Finance Planning

The issue of material security in the light of dismissal is most acute. It is good if, at the time of the decision to change the job, there are sufficient savings that will allow you to cope with expenses without deprivation and restrictions for several months. In the opposite case, it will take some time to work just to form such a reserve. Of course, a lot depends on the emerging employment prospects, but it follows from the worst-case scenario, so as not to be in a debt hole.

5. Informing others

Do not hide your decision to dismiss from relatives and friends. It is advisable that they learn about it before its execution. On the one hand, people around can give valuable advice that will allow a different look at this decision. On the other hand, it is within the family that silence about plans for a job change until the last moment can be perceived as a manifestation of mistrust.

The decision may be difficult and painful, but it is the close circle that alone will provide psychological support in such a situation. And even if criticism comes in response, it is important to remember that this is a decision of an individual order, the fullness of the motives of which many may not feel.

6. Solving the remaining problems

If at the time of dismissal there are unresolved tasks that will require investment of forces and resources, it is recommended that they be completed before the change of work. This applies to those cases when it is not planned to immediately search for vacant places.A new job will inevitably bring a lot of organizational trouble, and in combination with previous concerns they will lead to strong psychological, and maybe physical overload.

7. Acquaintance with a new job

It happens that the reason for dismissal is an offer from representatives of a competitive company. The employee is offered obviously more favorable conditions, but even in this case, you should not rush. It is recommended to take time to consider the proposal, during which to learn as much as possible about the company of competitors from the inside. This is best done through her employees - especially since there is a logical reason to get to know them in the light of the proposal.
