Meissze-Odzhanskie is a small village in Poland where amazing things happen. Only girls are born here, and the last boy was born back in 2009. Local authorities, of course, cannot affect the oddities of genetics, but they are ready to generously reward the family in which the boy is born.
Strange statistics
Sociologists and demographers have long been interested in this village. They conducted a survey, as a result of which it turned out that every adult resident of the village has 1-2 daughters. In total, about 300 people live in the village. And most of the men living here are newcomers. After examining the statistics since the foundation of the village (from 1679), the researchers realized that boys were always a rare occurrence in this area.
To understand what the gender situation in Meiss-Odzhan is, it’s enough to know that only 8 men and 24 women work in the fire department. Most male professions have long been dominated by beautiful ladies. But this does not bother the locals. They believe that boys and men are too restless. And with the predominance of women, peace and quiet reigned in the village.
Boy reward
Local authorities see a serious problem in that boys are not born in the village. They are even willing to generously reward the family in which the son will be born. True, what kind of surprise awaits a happy family is not disclosed. But, of course, officials cannot influence genetics in any way. And families that already have girls do not want to take risks for the sake of rewards and give birth to girls.
True, couples who want to try are promised in the local hospital tips on how to increase the likelihood of having a boy. A more real opportunity to conceive a son is IVF. Thanks to the actions of specialists, you can increase the chance of having a boy up to 50%. But so far no one has become interested in this initiative. The villagers are not worried about the gender situation.
