Kings can do everything, and work is no exception: the unusual occupations of members of the British royal family

They are rich, famous, superbly educated and educated. Can you imagine that they have a need to work? Of course, managing a power is not an easy job, but members of the royal family have shown themselves not only in this field. Even representatives of the elite sometimes want to spread their gilded wings and try on a new role.

The bride of Prince Harry Meghan Markle - the Duchess of Sussex - was once an actress, but she is hardly the only member of the royal family with a rich resume. Here are five weird professions you never expected from royalty.

Princes William and Harry - Star Wars Stormtroopers

Ask any young boy who he wants to be when he grows up, and he can name one of his favorite fictional characters.

Princes William and Harry were able to bring to life the fantasy of every young Star Wars fan when they were invited to play stormtroopers in the eighth season of the saga.

And even though their faces were covered with white helmets, and the scene was cut from the final version of the film, we can say that it was a dream job.

In fairness, let’s not forget that the princes paid their debt to their homeland: both William and Harry served in the army. Both royal grandchildren know how to fly a helicopter; they even happened to visit hot spots.

Prince Philip - Truffle Farmer

Queen Elizabeth's husband, Prince Philip, could lead an idle life, but he also decided to realize his talents.

The Duke of Edinburgh owns a truffle farm in Norfolk, England. True, for some reason he doesn’t get a huge harvest. In 2009, he even complained about this to the press and asked for advice from more experienced colleagues.

Italian truffle experts responded to the duke’s call. But, alas, one of them came to the conclusion that the climate in Norfolk is not very suitable for growing these valuable mushrooms.

Princess Anna is an Olympic athlete

Anna is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth, the sister of Prince Charles and aunt William and Harry. She is the first member of the royal family to ever attend the Olympics.

She was a member of the British equestrian team at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and showed the skill of a rider.

Despite all the efforts of the princess, Britain was unable to take home a single medal. A few years earlier, thanks to Anna’s ability to ride, she became the winner in the nomination “Athletic Person of the Year” (according to the Air Force).

Prince Charles - author of a children's book

Even before the birth of his sons, Prince Charles wrote a book that other parents could read to their children. It was called "Old Man Lochnagar." This is a fable about what Charles did many years ago to entertain his brothers.

When it was published in 1980, the children's book had a cover in which its author was entitled "His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales."

The BBC channel turned the book into a cartoon and asked the prince to voice it. Later on the “Old Man Lochnagar” put on the musical of the same name.

Queen Elizabeth drove a truck

During World War II, the future Queen Elizabeth went down in history as the first woman from the royal family to serve in the army. She entered the Women's Supporting Territorial Service, where she worked as a car mechanic and a truck driver.

“One of her main joys was getting her nails dirty and getting oil stains on her clothes. Elizabeth proudly showed these signs of labor to her friends, " - Journalists wrote about Elizabeth in 1947.

Elizabeth carried her love for cars through her life.In her youth she loved to drive, although she had no rights and never had - such is the law of the United Kingdom.

Now, in her 93 years, the queen continues to lead an active life, but her car is probably being repaired by someone else.
