Highlighting the main to-do list and other methods that I use to save time on daily decision making

Previously, I constantly did not have enough time to cope with everyday affairs. A blockage at work, a mess at home, a lack of the ability to fully relax - the problems that plagued me. This went on until I found out about the methods, the use of which allows me to keep up with everything. They are aimed at spending less time on daily decision making.

Prioritize

For starters, I developed a good habit. Monday morning I devote to compiling a to-do list for the whole week. Then I distribute my goals according to their importance and urgency.

Here the Eisenhower Technician comes to my aid. To use it, you need to take a blank sheet and divide it into four squares. Important and urgent matters fall into the first square, which should be dealt with urgently. The second - important goals that can be worked on a bit later.

In the third square, I bring in urgent, but not important things. An example is the replacement of a blown bulb, the repair of a failed washing machine, and so on. The fourth square includes tasks that are not important and urgent - computer games, watching TV shows, surfing the Internet and so on. They can only be dealt with after the affairs of the three previous squares are completed.

Make a plan

Eisenhower's technique allows me to quickly figure out what matters are in priority this week. When the emphasis is set, you can begin to draw up a plan. I am thinking out a plan for the implementation of urgent and important, as well as non-urgent and important matters.

Tasks from the third square from time to time I manage to delegate to someone else. Affairs from the fourth square, I do only as desired. Eisenhower's technique allows me to understand what exactly is a waste of my time, where it goes.

Choose time and date

It is also important to decide when exactly you will do the affairs of the first two squares. Be sure to specify the time and date so that there is no temptation to put something in the long box. When you do this, you make yourself a kind of promise that you will not want to break.

Also consider what time of day you are most productive. I try to cope with all the important and urgent matters in the morning, when I am best able to cope with affairs. It is possible that another time will suit you better - afternoon, evening, and so on.

Optimization

When you draw up an action plan, the time and date of the execution of a task must be chosen correctly. For example, sometimes I need to meet someone in another area of the city, and also visit an organization that is located there. Of course, I plan such things on the same day, which can save a lot of time on the road.

Or, say, I need the help of some person in order to cope with some tasks. I also plan these things for one day.

How else can I optimize my list? For example, you want to tidy your figure, lose weight. You decide to spend an hour daily training. However, you do not have to buy a gym membership for this. Instead, you can get to work or return from it on foot. You will not only tidy your figure, but also save time.

Provide everything in advance

I used to spend a lot of time making small household decisions.Every morning I thought about what to wear today for work, what to cook for breakfast, and so on. Fortunately, a solution to this problem was also found.

I taught myself to choose clothes for the week ahead. Every Sunday, I set aside a small amount of time in advance to prepare the things I need. I also plan a menu for the whole week, I buy products according to a pre-compiled list.

When I do everything at once, it takes me much less time than when I do it every day. I also noted that I became less tired, because I no longer need to constantly make small household decisions.

Summarize

When you just accustom yourself to a new routine, it’s useful to take stock of the past week. It’s convenient for me to do this every Sunday. I pay attention to which tasks from my list have been successfully completed and which are not. I analyze the reasons that prevented me from dealing with certain things. This allows me to prevent similar mistakes in the future.

results

What did the actions described above give me? Every day I save at least two hours of time. I have become faster and more efficient in dealing with everyday activities. I am much less likely to overcome the fatigue that I constantly felt before.

I also realized that some of my time wasted on things that did not do me any good. It helped me to give up many of them, which made my days much more productive. I devoted the saved time to activities that bring me more pleasure, make me develop and move forward.
