The Northeast Administrative District of Moscow (abbreviated as NEAD) is located in the northern part of the Russian capital. It is one of the 12 administrative districts of Moscow. Its code number is 45.28 billion. The district includes 17 districts. The population is 1.4 million. District area - 101.9 km2.
3 metro lines and the MCC line pass through the district. Sixty-three percent of the territory is occupied by residential and industrial buildings, and 36% - parks and squares.
County History
Until 1917, only a small part of the current district, which belongs to the Suschevsky Val district, was part of the city of Moscow. After the revolution, the borders of Moscow within the okrug were expanded and passed along the MKZhD. A new expansion of the borders of the capital was observed in 1960. Then the border of the city reached the Moscow Ring Road. The city of Babushkin and a number of villages became regions of NEAD. In 1984, the territory of the Severny district was annexed to Moscow.
The transport system of the North-Eastern administrative district of Moscow
The road transport system is represented by motorways: Altufevskoe highway, Dmitrovskoe highway, Yaroslavl highway and Sheremetyevskaya street.
There are 3 metro lines in the district: Lublin-Dmitrovskaya, Serpukhov-Timiryazevskaya and Kaluga-Riga.
Railway transport in the northeast administrative district of Moscow is represented by two stations: Savelovsky and Riga, the Moscow-Yaroslavl railway and six stations.
The Moscow Monorail line operates within the okrug, which does not go beyond it.

This area is known for the names of leading cosmic figures. Here are such objects as the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, the house-museum of Sergey Korolev, the monument to the Conquerors of Space, as well as the Cosmos Hotel and the Cosmonauts Alley.
County Ecology
Despite many industrial points, the overall environmental situation in the district is rated as satisfactory. This is due to the widespread occurrence of green spaces. Compared with other districts, the ecological state in NEAD is average. It is better than in the southeastern and central districts, but worse than in the west and northwest.On the border of the district is the largest forest in Moscow - Elk Island. In forested areas you can find squirrels, birds, and sometimes moose.
Negatively, the atmosphere and clean air in the city are affected by vehicle exhausts. The prestigious areas of the okrug have higher levels of transport pollution than those located on the outskirts of Moscow. On highways, traffic jams often occur.
Thus, the northeastern administrative district of Moscow is a landscaped area with acceptable ecology, developed infrastructure and many attractions. There are many squares and parks in the district. The main disadvantage is the high congestion of the routes by personal vehicles, which creates traffic jams and increases air pollution.
