Each musician has his own audience. Jazz is not as popular as it was several decades ago, but it also has its own fans. For the most part, Stepanov Valery works in this genre, although he often surprises listeners with his unusual improvisations in folk, soul, country and seventies disco. He plays several instruments, composes music and arranges it. Not so long ago, he surprised his fans with cover versions of popular songs.
Father
Valery came to the music thanks to his father. He was one of the most famous drummers in Siberia and the Far East. The house of the future musician kept many instruments to which he had free access. Among them came across amazing specimens, perfectly preserved from the seventies.
Valery's father earned appreciation not only in the eastern part of our country, but also in Moscow. At one of the festivals, he received a letter from the hands of Igor Bril. The maestro noted that preference was given deservedly. After all, Albert Stepanov was the most swinging and groovy. It was from him that the son received a passion for finding a new sound, a manner of singing with his soul and the ability to find courage.
Childhood
The starting point of the career of the famous composer may be a concert held in kindergarten. It is his Stepanov Valery who often recalls in his interviews. It was a prom night at which he performed boogie-woogie. Unlike other children, he was not at all nervous, but really enjoyed being on stage. At that time, he was almost invisible because of the piano.
By the age of 9, he had perfected his game and was already surprising adults with improvisations that were overly mature. In 2010, Stepanov Valery (photo can be seen here) graduated from the Central Music School in Moscow. She works at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He studied under the guidance of Professor Roman Lednev, and then easily joined the jazz metropolitan party. Now he is recognized by fans of this musical direction throughout the country.
How did the career begin?
Jazz as the main direction of creativity Valery was not chosen by chance. In the home collection, he came across records of Peterson, Pass and Pederson. The records were old, made in the late seventies, but Stepanov Valery was impressed by the charming music in the style of jazz. He often calls his idol Peterson. Later, he began to study the world of jazz in depth and met with Koria and Hancock. Hancock's albums of the mid-70s were his closest in spirit.
The first professional concert of Valery took place at 11 years old. He was accompanied by a drummer and bass player. Almost never in childhood did not feel fear of the stage Stepanov Valery. His biography since childhood is connected with music, because it could not be otherwise. Only in his teens, before going to the audience, Valery experienced many exciting minutes. Now he calmly goes to the public, and his fans are very warmly received. He does not share his creative plans, but it is known that the musician will build his career in such a way as to be on a par with famous contemporary musicians. He wants to be talked about as an incredible phenomenon of our century.
