Economic cooperation between Russia and South Korea has been developing for many years. In light of recent events in the world, including anti-Russian sanctions, the war in the Donbass and the decline in oil prices, the volume of trade has declined. The South Korean Embassy in Moscow promotes economic cooperation. In addition, the Korean side strongly supports the development of the Russian Far East.
Cultural connections
The unusual Korean k-pop culture, martial art of taekwondo and the Korean language in Russia are popular and widespread. Cultural ties between the two states continue to evolve. Visa-free regime and tourism
Since 2014, Russian tourists can travel to South Korea without a visa, as well as Korean to Russia. In 2015, the flow of tourists between countries reached the mark of 300 thousand. Russia and Korea conduct joint specialist exchange programs to gain experience.
