Sleep more and not sit on social networks: how busy people increase their productivity

The level of productivity is one of the basic indicators by which employers evaluate the value of employees, and employees themselves evaluate their own professional effectiveness. Accordingly, increasing productivity is the normal desire of a modern person who wants to succeed and steadily move up the career ladder.

The only question is how to build up your potential, if all the temporary and energy reserves are already occupied. The general answer may be the principle of rationalization, but it must also be able to be used correctly. The following recommendations will help with this.

1. Strict submission to goals

Each day should be dedicated to specific tasks and activities without distracting factors. To do this, lists of goals are compiled over time. The slightest deviation from the schedule should be considered as an unacceptable violation. For example, the use of social networks and other entertainment is time-consuming and, accordingly, reduces employee productivity.

2. Concentration and concentration

Even if personal distractions are eliminated, this does not mean at all that the further process will go under conditions of complete disposition to work. In open-type offices, this is almost impossible, which is their minus. Third-party noise, negotiations of colleagues, regular inquiries and consultations - all this interferes and distracts. Therefore, you always need to be able to retire in your own comfort zone without noise and other distractions from the outside. This is especially important if you regularly have to deal with critical projects requiring increased concentration.

3. The use of "white noise"

If there is no quiet corner at work, you can resort to the technology of creating "white noise" using headphones. This means that annoying sounds will be interrupted by a smooth and calm acoustic background, conducive to the work process.

4. Segmentation of records

Meetings, meetings and conferences will certainly provide food for thought, the adoption of certain decisions or the correction of the current work process. You must be prepared to capture key information quickly and conveniently. A notebook divided into columns by topic and note can be an optimal medium for such information.

5. Do not be afraid of change

Again, this is a comfort zone, but rather a psychological one. Each employee has his own set of limiters, within which he fulfills his duties. He is used to them and does not want to change the principles of the established approach to work. This tactic justifies itself in some ways, insuring the employee against many mistakes, but at the same time it limits development as well - accumulating knowledge, skills and gaining new experience.

6. Take big projects

What else can give an impetus in the form of productivity growth as visual as an ambitious large project? If, in principle, its components and tasks are feasible for implementation, it must be taken. Next, the project is divided into small segments, the work on which will be carried out separately.

7. Prioritization

In principle, working with a large number of tasks may seem too time-consuming. But if all matters are strictly distributed according to the criteria of complexity and the size of the required resources, then the entire volume will be perceived not so intimidatingly. The principle of priority with the distribution of tasks according to the most profitable time periods for implementation allows rational use of labor resources and effectively cope with responsible projects on time.

eight.To sleep more

In conditions of high workload, sleep is the most important, if not the only source of energy replenishment. To ensure a comfortable and full sleep, you should not save organizational efforts - a comfortable bed with bedding, soothing tea and incense should help in this matter.

9. Do not postpone short-term tasks for later

If there are things that are completed in a few minutes, they should be solved first, without thinking about them in the future. This can be a response to a call, email or providing the same help.

10. Vision

Strategic productivity gains are not possible without looking into the future. Planning tasks and tasks for one or two days is not bad, but it is much more efficient and useful to start scheduling with to-do lists with wider coverage up to weeks and months.
