Listen to your ideas and suggestions: how to find out that at work you have more influence than it seems

If you work more than you should, it is not surprising that at the same time you feel underestimated by your boss and colleagues. However, if you adhere to higher standards than others, or if you are constantly busy, your work is probably vital to your team. Here are a few signs that indicate that your ideas and suggestions are being heeded.

1. You are open to people.

Colleagues come to you to share ideas or talk about the problem they are experiencing in the workplace. People are not afraid to ask for your help or ask your opinion about things. They value what you say. They see you as a trustee in the workplace, to which they can come up with professional thoughts, ideas, advice and much more.

Sometimes even the manager is interested in your opinion. This is a good sign. Perhaps he even invites you to speak out during important meetings or quotes your ideas or project proposals to people who hold senior positions.

2. You are praised for your positive attitude

People always want to be with a positive person in the room. Although realism is also a valuable quality in a person, positivity brings a certain attitude. Such a person inspires a team, inspiring each of its participants that he will cope with any task.

3. Your suggestions are taken seriously

Perhaps you just asked for more fruit in the lounge, suggested changing the last project proposal, or made recommendations for effective time management. If your suggestions are useful for the entire office, they are implemented first. People around you trust your judgment and listen to you when you propose change.

4. You get feedback from your boss

All employees can improve in one way or another. If your boss is trying to help you become a better employee in a more personal setting, he can prepare you for potential career advancement. Your task is to listen to feedback and implement these changes.

5. You are invited to meetings where your colleagues are not.

You may be asked to attend a meeting attended by senior management representatives. This is a good sign. Your boss and other executives want you to know what is going on in your company, and they want to hear your opinion about it.

Your boss sees your potential and wants to help you become a better employee. And, most likely, he prepares you for another role, which may amount to career advancement. Try not to be upset and continue to improve the productivity of your workplace.

6. You are constantly busy

This can be frustrating. However, the only reason you are busy is because other people around you want you to be part of important meetings. They want to hear your notes about their next presentation, they want to hear your options for solving the problem and much more.

Sometimes it’s easy to feel that your efforts are not appreciated by those in your company. You work late, do more tasks than usual, etc. However, sometimes this is a good sign.
