Bees, hard work and great-grandmother recipe for lemonade: an 11-year-old girl made a fortune in an unusual way

Surely in American films you saw how children sell home-made lemonade to earn their pocket money. This is a common practice in the USA. But only one girl managed to make a fortune on this. On the great-grandmother’s recipe, she was able to earn $ 11 million at age 11.

It all started with a bee

When Michaela Ulmer of their Texas was 4 years old, a bee stung her. Since then, the girl began to be terribly afraid of bees, she even developed a phobia. To help the baby cope with fear, her parents decided to tell her about how useful insects are, how important they are for the existence of all life on Earth.

As a result, Michaela ceased to be afraid of bees. Moreover, she was carried away by these insects. By the age of 9, she had already studied a lot of literature and reviewed many documentary films about bees. The girl found out that the bees are endangered. In particular, due to chemical fertilizers and pesticides that kill them. Michaela became seriously interested in the issues of safe organic products, as well as the rescue mission sang.

Magic recipe book

Knowing about her daughter’s hobby, Mikael’s mother found her great-grandmother Helen’s old cookbook. There she recorded many interesting organic recipes. Much was incomprehensible to a little 9-year-old girl. But the original recipe for lemonade really interested her.

Great-grandmother Michaela made lemonade according to a unique recipe of 1940. The drink was infused with flax seeds and mint leaves. Michaela decided to add her author detail to it - a little honey.

Bee business

Michaela decided that she would sell her lemonade, and transferred the earned money to the bee rescue fund. To this end, the girl, of course, with the help of her parents, applied for participation in the Shark Tank business show. Thanks to this, the girl received an initial investment of $ 60 thousand and began working under the auspices of the Whole Foods Market company, which produces organic drinks.

As a result, Michaela's natural lemonade has become terribly popular. Whole Foods Market has signed a $ 11 million contract with the girl. Now, Mikaela’s great-grandmother lemonade is sold in 50 US stores. Her business idea entered the top ten all over Texas. The girl continues to experiment on new tastes and plans not only to repeat, but also to increase her success.

In an interview, Michaela always focuses on the fact that her success story began with bees. She is grateful to the bee that once stung her and led to success.
