Working with a friend as a team makes you happier and more productive: research

Most people spend more time at work than at home, so it’s natural that they want to establish good relationships with colleagues. In addition to professional relationships, it is important that someone celebrates your work achievements and at the same time listens to you when you need to talk about your personal problems. Otherwise, the workplace can become a lonely and isolated space. According to a study by Gallup, a global company specializing in human resources, having at least one friend at work helps you work better and, in addition, allows you to innovate, which can lead to higher incomes.

Create More Chances for Collaboration

According to research, working with a friend makes you happier and helps you be more productive. This can motivate you to go to work, because there you can share something dear with this person and, therefore, be happy. Because of this, you have seven times more chances that you will want to participate more actively in company projects, offering ideas or improving your productivity. In addition, there is a 20% less chance that you will leave your job or be constantly looking for other opportunities. The study also showed that 50% of employees working with each other create a special relationship with the company compared to 10% of those who have only professional relations.

Most women think a friend at work is important.

Salaries, opportunities for promotion in the company and benefits such as health insurance are some of the main factors that are taken into account when looking for a job. However, according to the study, two-thirds of women recognize that the social dimension is also an “important reason” for choosing a job. The culture within the company is fundamental so that a person can lead a healthier life.

Maintaining friendships in the workplace can bring up to 12% more profit, as employees feel more like members of their team. This means that they are willing to take risks, which can lead to innovation. In addition, due to the existing confidence, supervisors have more opportunities for a positive assessment of their own work, the work of the team and the organization as a whole, which can lead to an increase in wages, promotion or recognition. On the other hand, you are less likely to experience negative feelings such as anxiety, stress, and fatigue after work.

The probability of accidents at work is approximately 36% less

For both women and men, having a best friend at work leads to increased productivity. According to the study, in 6 out of 10 organizations that have employees who maintain personal and professional relationships, 36% less accidents related to safety at the workplace. This is because employees have a relationship with their colleagues, so they tend to take the right, deliberate actions.
