Headings

Modern life requires new qualities from leaders: purpose, specific actions and speed (advice to employers)

Organization of a corporate structure with the expectation of increasing productivity and efficiency by traditional methods is a thing of the past. Formal maintenance of hierarchical managerial relations shows its inoperability and lack of prospects in modern conditions. To the forefront in the leader’s strategy are the principles of affirming a culture of positively-minded and capable of creative self-realization employees who are ready to work motivated for a common result. The following recommendations will help you succeed in this direction.

1. Goal setting

The employer must set a clear goal for the team, within the framework of which each of its participants will more clearly understand their local tasks. The mistake of many leaders is the abstract representation of the main goal, while it should be clearly formulated in front of the team.

2. Specific actions

Company values must be transformed into algorithms for well-defined actions. The mechanism of work of each department should focus on the implementation of clear functions, each of which in its place will ultimately contribute to the achievement of the goal.

3. Openness of the leader

The top management should not hide from subordinates, giving only commands through managers. A leader like no other through direct contacts with employees can become a source of motivation that will achieve goals in the most difficult situations for the company.

4. Human relationships

It is important to remember that each member of the team is a living person who thinks about his career, professional and personal growth. The affirmation of a culture in which each employee is perceived not as a screw or part of the resource base, but as a person, will ultimately create an atmosphere of loyalty to the team, positively tuned to the management structures.

5. Creating free space for solving problems

Another relic of the time is a bet on limiting employees in ways of solving certain problems. In some areas, this approach justifies itself, but in modern conditions of multitasking and the action of many indirect factors, the role of non-standard and even creative visions of each individual employee is growing. Freedom of action over a wide range by itself will increase the effectiveness of the team.

6. The ability to adapt to change

The high rate of change in ideas about the principles of management, including due to the emergence of new technologies, does not give chances for survival to companies that do not have time to integrate the business into new conditions. A leader who feels the dynamics of change and is not afraid to invest resources in innovation, at least maintains his competitiveness, and this is of course an important quality, which is also required to achieve high results in his work.

7. Caring for yourself

As ordinary employees need to take care of themselves on the part of the company, the leader himself must maintain a balance of psychological and physical strength. There should always be time for rest, maintaining health, and, of course, for self-development and education.
