Those who dream of peace, quiet and simple life away from busy everyday life, life on a Greek island with a population of 20 people must seem like a paradise. Andikitira - a small piece of land with unspoilt nature, located between mainland Greece and the popular island of Crete, is looking for new residents.
The population of the island is aging and declining, which indicates the death of the community. Before a family with three children moved there in the fall of 2018, the school was closed for 24 years. In the summer months, the number of settlers increases, but no more than twice. Therefore, guests who want to get to Andikitira always have a warm welcome.
Due to the relative inaccessibility and lack of infrastructure, the island does not attract tourists and does not have the economic advantages of this industry.
