It's no secret that for a long time men dominated the business world. Society expected women to only look after their children and serve their husband at home. However, fortunately, much has changed recently in terms of gender inequality in the world.

More and more women are committed to business today. In the world today there are many enterprises run by the fairer sex. Below we present to the reader a selection of 10 such successful business women.

1. Ana Lucia Fontes

This woman worked for 17 years as the head of one of the large companies. Once Ane Fontes came up with the idea to start her own business. The woman showed courage and left her good job with a stable salary.

At first, Ana regretted writing a letter of resignation. In the first months of "free swimming" the woman did absolutely nothing, and she already dropped her hands. However, soon our heroine again believed in herself. The “10,000 women” courses helped her in this, studying on which, she realized that the difficulties with running her own business initially appeared not only for her.

In 2010, Ana created Rede Mulher Empreendedora - her own virtual platform dedicated to women's entrepreneurship. Today, the number of users of her site exceeds 36,000. On the Internet, Ana supports women entrepreneurs in her home country, Brazil, and also publishes interesting articles on the topic of business.

2. Eloise (Zika) Assisi

This woman worked for a long time as an ordinary maid and nanny. Despite the lack of funds, she tried all her life to monitor her appearance. From early childhood, Eloise, among other things, had to carry out quite complex care for her curly thick hair.

According to the girl, she always experienced great difficulties, picking up shampoos, gels and balms in the store. Even the expensive cosmetics of this group, unfortunately, did not allow her to care for her hair the way she wanted.

One day Eloise had a wonderful idea. The woman decided that since there is such a vast niche in the modern market, she may well try to occupy it on her own. To realize the dream of her own business, Eloise first graduated from expensive courses of stylists.

In the end, the woman managed to create a good formula of cosmetic products for curly hair. In 1993, Eloise already opened her first hairdressing salon. Her clients were exclusively women with curly hair. To date, Assisi is the owner of about 40 beauty salons, bringing her good income.

3. Isabella Delorenzo

Having a degree in economics, Isabella Delorenzo (photo at the very top of the page) has worked in the field of finance for more than 15 years. Like Ana Fontes, at one point, she decided to leave her post and start her own business.

Among other things, Isabella had a lover colleague at work, with whom she often just exchanged recipes for sweets and cakes. Isabella later married this man.

After some time, the woman took courses in the USA on baking popular brownie cakes, as well as marketing in the confectionery industry, for common savings with her husband. In 2009, Isabella, also in collaboration with her husband, founded her own company The Brownie Shop and began to successfully sell cakes. Today, Delorenzo sells tens of kilograms of high-quality baked goods via the Internet and, of course, gets good money.

4. Mary Kay Ash

Cosmetic products manufactured by the company of this business woman are well known, including to the Russian consumer. American Mary Kay was born in 1918 and married at 17 years old. During World War II, the woman herself was forced to support her three children, as her husband fought in the Resistance.

After the war ended, her husband left Mary, and she had to become an employee of Stanley Home Products, where she worked for the next 25 years.

Once Mary decided to write a book for women on how to look for work in the labor market. In the end, Kay realized that she had created nothing more than a detailed business plan for herself. In 1963, Mary decided to risk all her savings in order to start a cosmetic business. Today Mary Kay products are very popular all over the world.

5. Barba-Nicole Clicquot-Ponsardin

The Frenchwoman Barba-Nicole Clicquot-Ponsardin, born in 1777, was once known as the "widow of Clicquot" or the "Great Lady" champagne.

After Barba-Nicole lost her husband in 1805, she decided to continue his work on her own. Husband Clicquot-Ponsardin was the owner of several banks, was engaged in the sale of wool, as well as the manufacture of wine. After his death, Barba Nicole decided to focus only on winemaking and champagne production. High-quality wine produced by the company founded by her is very popular today.

6. Duilia de Mello

This woman has achieved tremendous success in the world of science. Throughout her career, she took part in many important discoveries, and also wrote her own book, Life with the Stars.

The way of teaching Duilia de Mello in astrophysics was very long and difficult. After school, a woman studied at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, receiving a master's degree. After graduating from USP, Julia also became a doctor of science.

Her training efforts were not in vain. Today, Duilia is a NASA junior fellow and professor at the Catholic University of the United States.

7. Louise Helena Traiano

This woman is the owner of the Magazine Luiza chain of stores well-known abroad. Louise was born into a family of merchants and, according to her friends, inherited the talent of her aunt's entrepreneur.

Trajano started selling sales at the age of 12 years. Having matured, Louise decided to change the centuries-old trading traditions of her family and began to conduct business according to a completely new strategy. As a result, she managed to create a huge network of Magazine Luiza, bringing in millions of dollars in revenue a year.

8. Camilla Farani

Like Ana Fontes, this business woman is actively helping other women enter the world of entrepreneurship. Camilla Farani is currently President of Gavea Angels, one of South America's largest investment companies. This business lady also co-founded the startup boutique Lab22 and the MIA (Angel Investor Women) courses for women entrepreneurs.

9. Cristina Junqueira

This successful business woman is a co-founder of a large company Nubank, providing mobile communications in banks. After leaving school, Cristina received a diploma from the University of São Paulo and got a very prestigious job.

In 2013, Junqueira decided to leave her position and start her own business. She had her savings in Nubank. Today Kristina is one of the richest women in the world.

10. Alcione Albanesi

Successful entrepreneur Alchione Albanese met the world of cutting and sewing as early as 14 years old. It was at this age that the girl began to appear on the catwalk as a model. At the age of 17, Alchione already had his own company for the design and tailoring of clothes.

A company that sells stylish Albanesi clothes has brought good income to its owner for a long time. However, once Alcione decided to implement another promising business idea.On a business trip to a US store, Albanesi saw a cheap Chinese lamp and decided to start producing similar lighting equipment. Alcione immediately liked the energy-saving lamps. Today, the woman is the owner of the widely known company FLC abroad.
