Pension savings depend on how many people in their lives have given up labor activity. And the higher this figure, the greater the pension. And the logical question will be - is study included in the work experience? After all, there are those categories of citizens who give most of the time to training.
What does seniority include?
As you know, work experience combines the entire period when a person was engaged in labor activities. It is reflected in the work book. The term also includes insurance experience, which means the time during which the employer paid insurance premiums for the employee.
Work experience includes the following:
- formal employment;
- registration as an individual entrepreneur;
- municipal or civil service;
- maternity leave;
- military service;
- period of temporary incapacity for work, provided that insurance contributions were made;
- imprisonment;
- disabled person supervision;
- period registered with the employment service.

Full-time and distance learning

This training period will be taken into account in the general experience, since contributions to the pension fund were made.
Postgraduate studies

According to the Federal Law No. 125, Art. 11, postgraduate education is also a form of education, regardless of whether it is full-time or part-time. Consequently, the years of postgraduate studies are also not included in the length of service. Legislation states that a citizen spends this time on education, but not on work, therefore, insurance premiums are not paid.
The situation with the internship is different. The law regulates it as a specialization after a university for a period of one year. Interns are appointed to the post of doctor by order of the head physician, where the basis is an internship. And since there is an order for appointment to the post, it means that the intern will receive wages in the medical institution, from which deductions to the pension fund will be made.

Universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Typically, those liable for military service retire earlier than usual after years of service. Before serving, such citizens must undergo training at universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are considered specialized, so the question will be relevant - is studying in the work experience? And before answering this question, it is advisable to figure out who can hope for a seniority pension:
- a person who has reached the age of 45 by the day of dismissal;
- a person with a work experience of over 25 years;
- a person with a military or fire service experience, as well as services in the penal system over 12.5 years.
Any citizen under the age of 25 who has a general secondary or secondary special education can enter full-time study at a university of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. If the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia pays for training, then a contract is signed with the applicant, which sets out the basic conditions for further service for at least five years.
Legislatively established that training in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is equivalent to work and, accordingly, is included in the length of service.
