Petr Olegovich was born in the capital of Russia - Moscow - in March 1955. His father (Oleg Ivanovich) held a post at the institute at the USSR Academy of Sciences, then he went to work at the main Moscow University - Moscow State University. However, Aven quickly finds a new place, becoming an adviser to the president of LogoVAZ. With the president of the concern, Boris Berezovsky, Peter Olegovich met at Moscow State University when he was the student's supervisor. In 1993, Aven ran for the State Duma and became its deputy. But he has to resign due to unwillingness to lose the opportunity to work at FinPA. At the same time, Alfa-Bank executives became interested in him. Initially, they turned to FinPA for advice, but after that interest changed. In 1994, a stock exchange takes place. A businessman gives up fifty percent of his shares in exchange for ten percent of the bank’s shares. Soon, a new shareholder is appointed to the post of president.
The new head of the bank has repeatedly confirmed that he took his post for a reason, with him the bank was able to strengthen its position in the market. In the spring of 1998, Aven was a member of the board of directors of Aviakor. In the summer, he was elected to the post of chairman of the board of directors of Alfa-TV CJSC, and a little later, CTC. In the following years, the banker holds the posts of chairman of the board of directors of Alfa Group and CTC Media. By the beginning of 2011, a successful businessman increased the number of his shares in STS Media to two tenths of a percent.
