John Forbes Kerry was born on December 11, 1943 and grew up in a wealthy and intelligent family, where in addition to him there were three more children. Even in his early youth, he became interested in oratory and more than once won the numerous debates that were held among students of various universities.

By the will of fate, he began to serve in the army and ended up in Vietnam, in which he condemned and did not support the government’s decisions regarding its methods of restoring law and order in this region. As part of the service, Kerry was wounded three times and received military awards.

Subsequently, John Kerry sharply criticized the Vietnam War and actively collaborated with an organization of Vietnamese veterans who called on the government to end the fighting.

Young John Kerry has always been interested in politics. At Yale, he chose the faculty of political science. During his higher education, he continued to hone his oratory, and even received an award for his talent to speak to the public. Due to its origin, the future US Secretary of State got the opportunity to meet and talk with the current president, John F. Kennedy, who made a strong impression on the young man.

Later, John Kerry enrolled in law at Boston College, as he lacked legal knowledge to grow further as a politician.
He successfully advanced through the ranks and was naturally elected to the US Senate in 1984.

New experience and knowledge in the political life of the country allowed John Kerry to stand for President of the United States in 2004 as a candidate from the Democratic Party. During the vote, he lost to Republican George W. Bush, but this did not end Kerry's political career.

In 2012, John Kerry accepted the offer of President Barack Obama and took the post of US Secretary of State. On February 1, 2013, he officially took the oath - US Secretary of State Kerry became 68th in this post.
