The Finnish Embassy in Moscow represents a diplomatic structure uniting Finland and Russia. The organization is headed by Ambassador Matti Antonen. The embassy represents the interests of Finland in Russia, protects the rights of its state and its citizens permanently or temporarily residing in Russia, helps in the development of friendly relations between the two states.
All embassy employees enjoy special privileges and protection, in accordance with international law and Russian legislation. In the territory where the residence of the Embassy is located, the laws of Finland apply.

To go to this country, you must first know where the Embassy of Finland is. In Moscow, it is located at: per. Kropotkinsky, d.15–17. You can preliminarily clarify any information of interest by calling the numbers indicated on the organization’s website.
Documents for a visa are accepted and issued on weekdays from 9 to 12. Citizens on consular issues are accepted every day except weekends from 9 to 16. A document that allows you to be in the territory of a foreign state is issued from 9 to 15 every day, except weekends.
Finnish citizens and other foreigners who are temporarily in Russia can, in urgent cases, turn to consular duty, providing round-the-clock consultations. The duty officer does not answer questions about obtaining a visa.
Visa Center
Permission to visit is granted by the Embassy of Finland in Moscow. The visa department allows you to get complete information on all issues related to obtaining a visa. Applications are also accepted here. The visa department works from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Saturday and Sunday are official holidays. Help questions are specified by phone.
The Embassy of Finland in Moscow has a separate visa center, which is located at Kalanchevskaya St. 13. The center is open on weekdays from eight to four. For submission of documents there is a preliminary appointment. Customer service, as well as the provision of reference information is carried out in Russian, English and Finnish. Applications are recorded by telephone from eight in the morning until five in the evening.
Application Review Period
The Finnish Embassy in Moscow considers applications within two weeks. This should be considered when planning a trip. To avoid possible problems with the issuance of a visa, it is recommended to submit an application no later than three months before departure. Consideration of the application can be expedited by first submitting a written justification. Expedited review takes three days. After submitting all the documents in a planned manner, their accelerated consideration is impossible.
Citizens of the Russian Federation living outside Moscow (more than 500 km) can count on consideration of applications within three days.
Who is the application accepted from?
The Embassy of Finland in Moscow accepts visa applications from the following persons:
- Individuals
- Close relatives of individuals who have previously confirmed family ties.
- Heads of organizations for employees (confirmed by presenting a work book).
- Representatives of the organization for close family members of the employee, if the documents of the latter are also submitted.
- Group submission of documents in the presence of the same purpose of the trip and its timing.
The Finnish Embassy in Moscow does not accept power of attorney documents sent by e-mail, courier or fax.Non-accredited travel agencies can only apply through accredited travel agencies. In order for the application to be considered, it is mandatory to pay the visa fee, the amount of which depends on citizenship.
