3. Customs documents or documents confirming the fact that the car was not previously registered in the Russian Federation (in originals and copies).
4. Title (original and copy).
5. CTP policy (original and copy).
6. Originals of transit license plates. They are usually issued at a car dealership upon purchase.
7. Application for registration procedure.
8. If you do not have the time and opportunity to attend in person during this procedure, it will be sufficient to provide a power of attorney. However, it must be certified by a notary.
9. Confirmation of payment of state duty, the amount of which is specified by the inspector, depending on the number of registration actions performed.

After that, the traffic police will inspect the license plates of your car and put a corresponding mark on the application. Within 40 minutes, all necessary papers will be issued, including a certificate for the car.

How to get a certificate for a used car

When you buy a car with your hands or with mileage, you still need to contact the traffic police to carry out the procedure for its re-registration.

In this case, again, you will have to draw up a certain package of documents and drive the car for inspection:

1. Passport.
2. The contract of sale in the original and copies.
3. Old certificate of registration (original).
4. Insurance policy (copy and original).
5. Title (copy and original).
6. Application for re-registration.
7. Number plates. Now it is allowed to leave them in a car, but if there is a need for a replacement, then you need to provide them in their pure form, in the amount of two pieces.
8. Power of attorney, if necessary.

Payment of state duty will need to be clarified by inspectors.

After reconciling the unit numbers, a new certificate of registration of the vehicle is issued. Replacement of numbers will be made at the request of the owner, changes have been made to the TCP, and all submitted original documents will be returned.

Restore the certificate of registration of the vehicle in case of loss

Often there are cases when it is necessary to notice the evidence, for example: when it is damaged, change of registration data or even loss.

To do this, you will have to contact the traffic police unit and explain to the inspector that the certificate of registration of the vehicle has been lost by providing the following documents:

2. The document on the basis of which you became the owner of the car (copy and original).
3. Power of attorney (copy and original).
4. Confirmation of state duty.

Buying a car without a certificate

If you buy a car without a certificate, then you need to be prepared to incur additional costs for its restoration, as this document is mandatory.

Some traffic police units have the right to request an explanatory letter from you about the loss of a vehicle registration certificate. True, the dominant document when registering a car is precisely the title deed, in which the previous owner selling the car should be entered. And if this information is not contained in the passport - we advise you to beware.

But when driving a car without a certificate of registration of the vehicle, a fine is imposed on the driver, in accordance with the SDA. These rules also confirm that the driver is required to produce the following documents at the request of police officers:

1. Driver's license.
2. Insurance policy.
3. Certificate of registration of the vehicle.

To restore the certificate, you should contact the nearby traffic police department, which is responsible for registering cars, providing a standard package of documents.
