Electricity is an integral part of our lives. We do not even notice how we need it until it disappears. The Lemonds family faced such a problem when their house lost power. Fortunately, help arrived just in time.
This man arrived like a guardian angel. He not only appreciated the technical problems of the family, but also helped to eliminate them. For his work, the electrician did not take a penny. But the grateful Lemonds still wanted to somehow pay back for his kindness. Once they invited this young man back to their home. The guy thought that they needed another help with electricity, but instead an unexpected surprise awaited him.
Maelstrom of problems
The couple in question are Josh and Stacy Lemonds. They live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were in a church group, where they first met their personal savior.
Unfortunately, in 2019, Lemonds suffered a misfortune: they were both unemployed. But this did not end there. Imagine how spouses were surprised when their electric heating system suddenly failed. This problem occurred at the most inopportune time. As a result, the Lemonds found themselves without heating in the winter.
“We came home and it was very cold here. Where did the heat go? ”Stacey recalls. Soon the couple found the source of the problem.
How to live without heating in winter?
“We looked at her, and there was a blank screen,” says Josh’s wife about the heating system. What could be causing the breakdown? Maybe, in part, this is due to the age of the house. It was built in 1945. In addition, this was not the first time that Lemonds had problems with electricity in the house.
“The lamp sparkled right there,” Stacy said, pointing to the lamp in the living room. “We did not use the light of table lamps.” It seems that the couple suffered from wiring problems.
Given their financial situation, they clearly had limited opportunities. As believers, Lemonds decided to turn to a higher power for help.
“We started to pray,” Stacy said, “and say,“ Lord, what is this? ”
Help has come
She and her husband also turned to a church group for help. The couple asked their brothers to pray to help them in difficult times. He got more than hoped. They were answered by one of the members of the group whom they met just a few weeks ago. This man was Joshua Matthews, who himself recently went through difficult trials. When the guy’s wife fell ill, Lemonds gave him the necessary help and support. They even dined at Matthews' house as a friendly gesture.
Before getting a job, Joshua served in the U.S. Army. He was a soldier of the 45th Infantry Division, which included two wars in Afghanistan. When the guy left the army, he found his calling in a new profession.
Despite the fact that the Lemonds met Matthews, they did not know how he made a living. The couple learned about this when the guy wrote to them. Luckily, the former soldier worked as a novice electrician.
“He wrote within five minutes of our prayer request,” Stacy said. - He said: “Hello. Do you know that I'm an electrician? Let me come. ” He lived only ten minutes away. ” The Lemonds gladly accepted his offer, and soon Joshua was at their place and evaluated the breakdown.
Electrician Savior
Unfortunately, the electricity situation was worse than they thought.
“Matthews looked at the wiring and said,“ There are big problems with her, ”Josh's wife recalls. The electrician considered it appropriate to contact the professionals who paid a visit on the same day.
“Employees from the energy council came that night,” Stacy continued. “They pulled out the meter and said that it was a fire hazard and we would not have electricity until it was repaired.”
Since the couple was in a difficult financial situation, they could not afford to pay for services. This was another problem. They did not know what they would pay for wiring repairs. Meanwhile, Matthews had already begun work on updating the electrical system and seemed to be full of determination.
“We sat in the car in the rain, watching him,” the woman recalls. - It was cold, and I hoped that this guy would not harm himself. He climbed the aluminum stairs, and we did not want him to slip and fall in the dark. "
At the time of repair, the Lemonds housed themselves in a car. Joshua finished the work a few days later. They were also helped by friends.
Matthews worked hard, and sometimes stayed there until midnight. Of course, he did this not alone, but along with Christian Harbison, an apprentice electrician. In the end, the wiring was fixed, but customers were worried about paying for services. It turns out that they had nothing to worry about, because this work was considered an act of charity, and the couple did not need to invest a dime.

The Lemonds knew that Joshua deserved the best praise, so they figured out how to repay him for his kindness.
The couple contacted a television channel that evaluates the good deeds of people and even pays them $ 400 for it. It was soon decided that Joshua deserved this award.
The guy was again called to the house of Lemonds, and when he arrived there he was very surprised.
