Allow yourself to be nervous and accept yourself for who you are: 9 tips to help you make an excellent business presentation

For many, the main fear that needs to be overcome is performing on stage in front of a huge audience. Use the few tips below to feel more confident while you are watched by hundreds of pending eyes.

Do not think only about yourself

That's right. It's not about you, but in the audience. Many speakers are focused on looking good and creating the most intelligent look no matter what. No need to do that. Focus on serving the audience. Let every moment happen before her. Can this or that joke offend them? Will they become bored after another fact that you share? First think about how your audience will perceive your conversation. Adjust to their interests, not your own.

Listen to everyone and then ignore

Everyone has their own opinion of a successful performance. Listen to them, digest them, and then decide which advice you will listen to and which you will ignore. It is easy to fall into the trap. If you try to take into account each opinion, then you will not achieve success on the stage. Be easier. Stick to what works for you.

Know that the audience does not think you are interested in your own speech

Most speakers are not interested in what they are talking about. The audience feels it. If you’re not keen on what you’re talking about, how can this interest the audience? Can you make a highlight in the speech? If not, then you still have a lot of work ahead.

Do not represent the public naked

This old tip does not work. Imagine the audience shouting like fans, for example, the name of a soccer player or basketball player or any other name that allows you to concentrate and maintain your composure.

Get nervous

Usually speech is rehearsed so often that every word just flies away from the teeth. But even intensive training will not save you from nerves. Do not let this scare you. Nervousness indicates that you care about providing value to the audience, which helps to focus.

You don’t actually have a business presentation

This is a view. Slides should be as empty and easy to read. Tell a story and be vulnerable. First of all, you need to be a person, and then an expert. Take dramatic pauses, use body language to emphasize key points, work on your voice. The important thing is not what you know, but how you present it to the public. Ponder your performance and practice.

Your task is not to teach the audience something

New does not always mean good. You just need to convey your thoughts to the audience so that mutual understanding appears between you.

Don't start from the end

Always start from the very beginning and don't forget to talk to your audience. Sometimes the first 60 seconds of conversation with the audience play a key role in your presentation. Many speakers are missing this point.

Perform as much as you need, but not a second longer

Many speakers want to talk about everything briefly so as not to waste time. Do not do this. It is better to spend more time to convincingly convey the story to the public. Short conversations, insufficiently clear or too boring material are signs of failure on stage. Work on this to improve your oratory.
