The difficult path of billionaire Mark Kuban: from $ 60 in his pocket to a multi-billion dollar fortune. Life example worth looking at

The billionaire, who owns the NBA Dallas Mavericks club - Mark Kuban, announced on his Twitter page that July 4 is the day he left the university’s gate with just $ 60 in his pocket. Within a couple of days, he was the last of 6 people who rented a room for $ 600 a month. He had nothing but ambition and a great desire to be realized.

The beginning of the way

Mark began his career at the age of 12, when he sold plastic bags, postcards, stamps and beer. Thus, he earned his college fees. In addition, he changed many professions, having been a dance instructor and a bartender.

But all this did not prevent the young man from studying well, and already in 1981 he graduated with honors from Indiana University in Bloomington. From there, he went to Pittsburgh, where he spent some time working at a bank, but soon quit and left for Dallas.

Earning money at the bar, at the same time he was looking for a new job and very soon was able to get a job at Your Business Software company, which was engaged in the sale of computer software.

First million

While working in the company, Mark independently mastered all the skills of programming, sales and creating a customer base.

But for disobedience and initiative, he was fired, and this was the most important lesson in his life.

Having contacted one of the former clients on past work, Mark decides to establish his own business. And that was MicroSolutions.

He sold it for $ 6 million in 1990. And he could have lived happily, but idleness is not his thing.

In 1995, a young businessman founds a new company - Audionet, which soon became known as Broadcast.com. And in 1999, he sells it to Yahoo! for almost 6 billion dollars.

Sport + money

When Mark turned a little over 40, he bought the Dallas Mavericks for $ 285 million.

He led his team to success by not quite traditional methods, which caused a storm of indignation among competitors. However, this is precisely what led the athletes to become NBA champions in 2011.

Mark Kuban learned to combine sport and business, which became his main income. He is madly in love with basketball and is doing everything to make his team feel comfortable. In response, he receives a huge share of respect and love.

Although he is already on the Forbes list, he is not going to sit still. Mark continues to self-actualize, reading even books for dummies on computer technology and not only. He cannot stop when he sees that this is new and useful information for him.

In business advice, he always says that a person should know everything about the market and about the product that will be sold, otherwise there will always be someone who wants to get around it.
