Statistics do not lie. A new study showed that 26% of employees are motivated, but do not like their company

According to the results of various studies, two-thirds of employees are inattentive, absent-minded, divorced from the team and the main process of the company. However, these reports are almost not talking about motivation.

New Research Results

A new study (“Inattentive employees are more motivated than you think”) revealed that 26% of employees have motivation, but they feel unhappy. These people do not like their company, but try to make efforts 100%.

Of course, everyone is familiar with people who, contrary to their negative attitude to their own company, show incredible zeal, work hard and productively. These people are called motivated, but unhappy.

Study Details

During the study, scientists analyzed the psychological state of 31 thousand employees. They were asked only two questions:

  • Do you have motivation to make one hundred percent effort at work?
  • Are you ready to recommend this company to other people?

Using advanced statistical technologies, scientists found that 26% of respondents are motivated, but unhappy. To the first question, most workers gave an affirmative answer. However, the second - many of them answered negatively.

There are many reasons why people do not like their company. There are a few highlights.

The relationship of personal success and company goals

Attentive and hardworking employees understand the importance of the organization's core values for their personal success. While motivated, but unhappy people do not see this as any relationship.

A person with a high level of motivation has high expectations for himself and others. But when he sees that his colleagues ignore the fulfillment of their duties, neglect the main values of the company, and at the same time achieve success, their attitude to what is happening changes.

Leader’s willingness to solve problems

Most active workers believe that in the event of serious errors, superiors will objectively assess the situation and make the necessary corrections. Employees less involved in the workflow do not share this confidence.

If a person gives all his strength to work 100%, he wants to see that the mistakes are eliminated, the leaders are responsible, and the rest of the employees are with the same zeal. If the bosses turn a blind eye to problems, and other colleagues just serve time, not fulfilling their basic duties, this reduces the desire to continue to work in the same rhythm. At the same time, people understand that in order to achieve their personal success, they need to make an effort. This is what supports their motivation. However, they do not see the point in immersing themselves in work with the head and striving for the company's values.

Leader support and willingness to listen to subordinates

A truly active and motivated employee feels that his leader is ready to support and help improve the workflow. Disappointed employees faced a different attitude from their superiors.

Inspired people are in constant search for creative ideas that can improve the quality of their activities. They readily share their findings. But if you are faced with indifference and neglect of others, this greatly reduces the desire to do something.

According to the results of the study “Risk of ignoring the opinions of subordinates,” only 24% of people said that their leader always supports and considers their proposals to improve the workflow. It is these employees who often recommend their company to other people.

Conclusion

Motivated but unhappy workers would be able to do much more good for their organization. However, due to the incorrect approach of the higher authorities, their motivation is reduced. The task of leaders is to understand who these people are. Then they must review and change their management style. This approach will help to become more successful not only for individual employees, but also for the whole company.
