Cleaning is not only useful, but also profitable: sorting out the trash in the attic, the family has become richer by 10 thousand dollars

Bringing order to the rarely used rooms of your own home, you can sometimes stumble upon amazing unique things. This is exactly what happened to Scott Amos from Nevada, who once found a game that was unopened. What came of this?

Household duties

The Scott Amos family has lived in his parents' house for several years, but the hands of the new owners of the house did not reach to sort out the trash in the attic, which had been lying there since the time when it was taken out of use into unused premises.

Scott for a long time tried to evade this duty, believing that cleaning is not a male occupation, and it is completely useless to sort things out in the attic. But his wife nevertheless managed to persuade him, and on one, one can already say for sure, fine day, the head of the family decided to fulfill his wife’s many-year request and put things in order in boxes with unnecessary things.

At first, he decided to just take out all the boxes to the dump, not sorting their contents, if not a single request from his mother, which he remembered, going up to the attic. His mother asked Scott to sort out the boxes of children's things, which, of course, he no longer needed, but children from poor families could still come in handy. Scott had to study the contents of the boxes.

Amazing find

Parsing toys that once belonged to him, Scott in one of the drawers noticed an object that interested him. It was a game box for the Nintendo console. The game was called Kid Icarus. Judging by the packaging, which was preserved in perfect condition, the game was purchased on December 8, 1988, as indicated in the check enclosed in the package. Scott went downstairs and began to ask his parents where this game came from, who bought it for what reason.

Scott's mom put forward her version, according to which the game was once bought as a gift for Christmas or New Year, as evidenced by the purchase date. They hid it for a while, but then they did not remember where or could not find the box with the game. Well, this version was the most plausible, explaining both the purchase date and the fact that the game was completely new.

What to do with the find?

Scott began to think what to do with such an amazing find. Then, remembering that there are collectors who collect such games, and assuming that he will be able to gain several hundred dollars for the game, the man wrote to several experts in order to play it safe and not get in trouble with a proposal to sell.

As Scott himself says, he, of course, realized that the game was a rare thing, but he could not even imagine its value and value. One day, while at work, Scott remembered the requests to the experts and decided to check his email inbox. After reading one of the letters on this subject, Scott, as he describes his condition, almost jumped up in his chair. One of the experts answered him that this game is a real Easter egg, for which some collectors are ready to give as much as $ 10,000!

Cleanliness Award

Realizing that a large amount could be saved, Scott called his wife and asked her to hide the game so that it remained in its original form, because even a damaged film on the packaging could significantly reduce the cost of the find.

Upon learning that Kid Icarus was found in one of the houses with an untouched package, which had been lying in an attic box for almost 30 years, the director of the company that once released it was very surprised. He said that finding a sealed game in an ordinary residential building is a very unusual, and even historical, event.

Kid Icarus, released in 1987, was auctioned off with a starting price of $ 10,000. but since this is a very rare find, preserved in its original form, it can be assumed that they will buy it for a much higher price. And Scott and his family already know how and where they will spend the suddenly acquired amount - they will spend their holidays in Disneyland.
