Mineral wool is a heat-insulating fibrous material, which is obtained as a result of melting of rocks, as well as metallurgical slag and its mixtures. It is quite successfully produce heaters used in construction projects.
Production technology
At the initial stage, a cupola is used for the production of mineral wool. In this furnace, the raw materials are melted. And after reaching the required temperature, it is fed through a trough to rotating centrifuges, on the surface of which air enters. And with the help of centrifugal force, basalt fibers are formed from the melt, which are coated with such a binding substance.
These fibers are fed into the perforated rotary drum by air flow. Due to the pumping of air, they are deposited on the surface of the drum. Subsequently, they are fed to the conveyor belt type.
The next stage of manufacture provides that the line for the production of mineral wool feeds the fibers into the space between the paired vertical conveyors. Using pendulum oscillatory movements, they fit a carpet formed from cotton.
Then this carpet goes to polymerization, where the fiber impregnating resins harden at the appropriate temperature. Thus, the finished product acquires the desired properties.
The next stage - the equipment used for the production of mineral wool provides for the carpet to enter the area where it should be cut both longitudinally and transversely into pieces of the required size. Thus obtained plates are stacked in specific stacks. At the last production stage, they are wrapped in polyethylene and fed into a heat tunnel for heating, which results in a formed package with plates that can be easily transported in the future.
Additional functions
As an additional option, some manufacturers offer equipment that can also stack packages with plates on pallets, or a line that performs the external surface treatment of the plates themselves.
Raw materials and binders
Equipment for the production of mineral wool uses the following raw materials: basalt, blast furnace slag, coke and dolomitic limestone.
As binders, it is necessary to distinguish such as phenol-formaldehyde resin, ammonia water solution, ammonium sulfate, silicic acid and machine mineral oil.
Areas (production and auxiliary)
Indoor industrial and auxiliary premises, in which both the furnace for the production of mineral wool and other units are located, should have an area of about 1.2 thousand square meters. m. At the same time, about 75% of them should be heated.
Storage of raw materials and binders (liquid and solid) requires about 800 square meters. m, of which 25% of the premises should be heated, 40% - indoor.
Warehouses for storage of finished products occupy about 1.4 thousand square meters. m. Moreover, the ratio of heated and covered premises can be established depending on the climate of the area where this production is planned to be carried out.
The price of equipment for the production of mineral wool
On average, the price of this line ranges from 5 to 7.5 million rubles. Based on the production process described above, its constituent elements are a multi-roll centrifuge, a cupola, an air heater and an air cabinet.
The total cost of equipment may depend on the configuration. So, several types of melting furnaces (cupolas) are known, which may differ from each other in their technological features.
For example, the ability of certain induction furnaces to increase the temperature in an hour of time reaches 2000 degrees.
Other equipment for the production of mineral wool can be added to such a melting furnace. Then, in the specialized literature, such a complex of aggregates called the "production line" is already found. It necessarily includes a water cooling system and a loading mechanism, in which the raw materials coming for processing are separated.
To the already mentioned furnace, it is necessary to attach a blasting device, which is one of the most important parts of the equipment due to its ability to blow the fiber from the melt in the form of the finest threads. We must not forget about such necessary units as high-power fans.
Since this equipment has a fairly high price, it must be very correctly handled. For this purpose, specially trained personnel should be available at the enterprise.
If it becomes necessary to repair this line, it must be carried out in accordance with state technical specifications, but not more than once a year.
