Today, environmentally friendly products that do not harm the environment, as well as products for the production of which renewable resources are used, are becoming increasingly popular. This statement is also true for packaging. Shops in many countries around the world, as an alternative to plastic bags that can be purchased for money, offer customers free use of capacious paper bags. Sometimes the choice of such packaging is predetermined by the characteristics of the product, since it is not recommended to pack certain materials into synthetics.
Package Production Stages
Paper bag manufacturing consists of several main stages. On the first of these, blanks for bags are made using a special machine. The semi-finished product is the so-called “sleeve”, which consists of several layers of paper glued together. There are two gluing methods: longitudinal and transverse. In the manufacture of bags intended for the storage of bulk solids, the workpiece is perforated.
In a second step, an image is applied to the outside of the bags. There are several ways that printing can be done:
- offset - the image is applied to the scan package. This printing method is advantageous for the release of a large circulation;
- silkscreen - used for applying simple images. For example, when you want to make bags with a logo. Drawing in this way can be applied both to the surface of the finished bags, and to the scan. Favorable if the circulation does not exceed 1000 copies. Silkscreen printing does not fully convey halftones, so the possibility of obtaining full color printing is limited;
- flexography - flexible forms are used for applying paints. One-color or multi-color printing is possible. The method is advantageous for a large circulation;
- stamping - is made only using a printed sheet. For example, if it is necessary to select a specific fragment of a picture. Often produced in conjunction with offset or silk-screen printing. The method is beneficial for large runs. Requires additional costs for the manufacture of stamps.
After drawing, the bottom of the bags is glued or stitched. Stitched paper bags are more durable than glued ones. However, the cost of production in this case increases due to the use of kapron threads.
In the manufacture of closed bags, valve blanks are made using a special valve machine. After this, the bottom seams are fixed. For the final gluing of glued bags, a pressing method is used. For stitched packages, the bottom is finally stitched with one or two lines (depending on the required strength) of the vestibule seam. Then the bags are packed in bales.
Equipment for the production of.
For the manufacture of paper bags requires the presence of certain units. Since manufacturers are currently offering a wide range of machines, when choosing, special attention should be paid to their configuration and power. Not only the cost of the line, but also its performance will depend on these indicators. The minimum necessary equipment for the production of paper bags includes machines that perform the following operations:
- production of blanks;
- molding glued bottom seams;
- bottom firmware (in semi-automatic mode);
- cutting of fixing and cushioning tapes;
- perforation of paper blanks;
- feeding and moving rolls;
- adhesive preparation;
- packaging in bales of finished bags (performed using a hydraulic press).
All of these machines can be purchased as a set, or as separate assembly units. Their total cost largely depends on this. Using the listed set of units, it is possible to produce paper bags of both glued and stitched type. If in the near future it is planned to produce only one type of product (for example, glued bags), then only part of these machines can be purchased. The execution of some processes is also available manually. Thanks to a rational approach, you can save up to half the cost of equipment. True, we should not forget that cost reduction will lead to a proportional reduction in line power. But for its tinning need only two or three people.
If it is supposed to produce products in a large assortment and / or in large volumes, then it is more profitable to purchase a finished production line. Typically, sellers sell them assembled, provide installation and further maintenance services. It is important to consider that from the completeness of the order, the cost of even a similar set of machines from the same manufacturer can vary significantly. Most modern lines allow you to adjust and reconfigure the parameters of the finished product (in particular, the length and width of the bags). This indicator also matters in the selection.
The production of paper bags with images requires the additional use of a flexo machine. Printing of drawings can be entrusted to a specialized company or performed independently (in this case, the flexo machine should also be included in the total cost of the equipment).
The production facilities for the manufacture of paper bags are subject to standard requirements (sanitary, fire, etc.). The main thing is that they should have a supply of water and electricity.
As raw materials, you can use paper of various types: cardboards, coated paper, efalin, Kraft. The manufacture of bags from waste paper products is widespread. It will not be difficult to find suppliers of such materials in almost any locality. As in any other type of production, the degree of profitability of paper bag manufacturing enterprises depends primarily on the volume of sales. A wide market provides the opportunity to maintain sales at a high level.
