The traffic accident notice has a uniform standard for all regions of Russia. But many drivers still have questions about how to properly fill out the document and use it. Consider these points in detail and answer the main questions.
When it is necessary to fill out a traffic accident notice
In order to compensate for damage under the insurance policy, among other documents, a notice must be presented. It must be filled in without fail in the following cases.
- When there is damage to vehicles due to an accident.
- If property damage is caused to third parties (passengers or pedestrians).
- When causing harm to the health or life of any of the participants in the incident or third parties.
Where to get the notice
It is impossible to predict accidents, otherwise everyone could have avoided them. But you can prepare to quickly deal with the situation if minor vehicle collisions occur. A document that helps to deal with the problem as soon as possible is a traffic accident notice. Therefore, it is better to always keep it in several copies in the glove compartment of the car.
Typically, forms are provided by insurance companies along with the CTP policy.
General Notice Information
A correctly completed document is a guarantee that there will be no problems with receiving payments in the insurance company. Therefore, such an action should be approached very carefully. This is especially true in cases where the traffic police inspector does not come to the scene. The permit recently introduced into the rules significantly simplifies the procedure for registration of road accidents, and also reduces time, because participants can rush about their urgent matters. By filling out the notice and signing it, you can agree when to drive into the traffic police unit and leave. It is not necessary to call a DPT employee in the following cases:
- if only two cars are involved in the accident;
- harm to health and life of road accident participants and other persons;
- vehicle damage is negligible;
- road accident participants agreed on what happened.
If a traffic accident meets all of the above conditions, then documents can be executed independently, and then register them in the traffic police unit.
Recommendations for filling
Information about how to fill out a traffic accident notice, available both in the document itself and in any section of the traffic police, as well as on many sites on the Internet. It consists of two pages. The front part must be filled directly at the scene of the accident. It should be signed by both participants in a traffic accident, which will testify to their agreement about what happened. The reverse side may be completed later, when the participant in the incident will have time, but before the deadline for the transfer of all documents to subsequent instances.
In order not to be mistaken when you are compiling a notice of an accident, follow the recommendations:
- fill in correctly all points and positions, without blots and corrections;
- coordinate the front part in advance with another participant in the incident;
- if the inspector of the traffic police is called, the document must bear the signature of the senior officer with a transcript of his initials and an indication of the rank and position;
- all witnesses who testified must leave their details;
- when filling out the clause about the place of impact, it is necessary to indicate part of the vehicle, and not list the damage;
- All visible damage must be clearly described.
A separate point is No. 17, where a traffic accident diagram is drawn up. They indicate the name of the street, the direction of the road, signs, markings, traffic lights, nearby objects and, of course, the position of the vehicles involved in the accident. It should be borne in mind that if paragraphs 16 and 17 conflict with each other, then priority is paragraph 17.
Selected Notice
Let’s figure out how to fill out a traffic accident notice in some parts.
In the fourteenth paragraph, it is necessary to list and describe the damage to vehicles that occurred during an accident. They need to be characterized as accurately as possible, and at the same time briefly. Other participants should not make other additions that are not related to an accident. It is necessary to verify this item with all parties. Depending on the severity of the damage, one of the proposed options is selected: scratch, dent, or tear (i.e. crack).
Paragraph 16 notes the circumstances in which the accident occurred. In the cells below the number of sub-items is filled. It is also necessary to reflect the maneuvers of the vehicle, taking into account the fact that:
- parking is not a stop (therefore, when stopping at a traffic light, it should not be marked “in the parking lot”, it should be emphasized “stopped at the prohibiting traffic signal”);
- when overtaking one vehicle over another or rebuilding, the position “changed lane” or “overtook” is noted.
When completing paragraph 15, you can add what is not specified in paragraph 16.
In the 18th paragraph, the participants in the accident put their signatures. After that, when the forms are separated, no changes or additions to the document should be made. If one of the drivers’s unwillingness to sign up, they will have to call a traffic police officer, since such an action means failure to reach agreement on the damage and other circumstances of the accident.

Next steps
The reverse side of the road accident participants fill out on separated sheets. It contains graphs that indicate information about both a traffic accident and about cars damaged in an accident.
If there is not enough space for the presentation of complete information, they continue to write on a blank sheet of paper and attach it to the notice, making an appropriate mark on the latter.

Accident with several cars
Two cars are not always involved in an accident. It happens that their number is three or more. If you find yourself in such a situation, a traffic accident notice, an example of which you can see in the article, should also be filled out. At the same time, one of them is made up with a vehicle that was in front, and the other with a car at the rear.
If your car was pushed by the car, because of which you hit the vehicle in front, reflect this fact in one and the other notice in paragraph 15.
At the same time, on the reverse side, the data of all the participants of the accident are filled out, indicating the make, model, number of the car, as well as the driver’s data: his full name, address with the phone, the insurance company for which he has a policy, and his number.

Please note that we are talking about insurance for compulsory motor liability insurance, and not comprehensive insurance. If one of the participants in the accident has a voluntary insurance policy, then it must take into account the contract.
