For some time now, Russia has been allowed to draw up individual traffic accidents without calling the traffic police. Despite this, victims receive insurance payments. Europrotocol: sample filling (Russia)
Despite the fact that the authorization of individual traffic accidents has been in force for several years, there is no widespread distribution of this norm in Russia. Maybe this is partly due to the lack of knowledge of their rights by car owners.
Let us first consider the cases when it is allowed to use Europrotocol in an accident without calling police officers. This is acceptable if:
- two vehicles took part in a traffic accident;
- the property of persons who did not participate in the accident or was in municipal ownership was not damaged;
- MTPL insurance or a “green card” is issued for one and another car;
- the accident participants did not have disagreements on any of the points of what happened.
However, if harm was caused to the health or life of people during an accident involving one car or, conversely, three or more, as in a number of other cases, a call from the traffic police inspector, and sometimes criminal investigation officers, is necessary. Then the sample of filling out the Euro Protocol can only be used to draw up an additional document that reveals the essence of what happened.
Well, if an accident meets all of these conditions, then one more thing to consider. Payments for incidents issued without calling a traffic police officer have limits. Therefore, before choosing this method, it is approximately estimated how much the repair will cost. Currently, the limit for Russia is no more than 50,000 rubles, and in Moscow and St. Petersburg - 400,000 rubles. If you thought that a large amount is needed for the repair, then it is better to call the traffic police, or you will have to pay the missing money yourself.
What to do in case of an accident?
What are the first steps in an accident? Of course, you need to make sure that none of the people were hurt. After that, you should put a warning triangle and proceed to assess the accident in terms of the possibility of its design without calling the police.
To do this, do the following:
- keeping all traces of an accident, approximately consider the necessary amount of compensation payment;
- you need to try to find witnesses and take not only evidence from them, but also data;
- take a picture or video of the scene of the incident.
Fixing what happened with a photo or video camera, make a general plan, grab the braking distance of the car from different angles, and also remove all damaged parts of the car. Two vehicles must be fixed from different sides.
How to get the maximum as insurance payment?
You will have a better chance of getting a higher payout if you have a video recorder filming what happened. It is difficult to count on the maximum payout amount without it. After all, insurance companies suspect car owners of falsifying accidents specifically for the purpose of receiving payments. However, not all satellite systems will be counted. Not each of them meets the requirements of the UK.
In addition, to count on the maximum amount, one video may not be enough.If the policy was issued before October 1, 2014, no more than 25,000 rubles will be paid. If the accident did not occur in Moscow or St. Petersburg, then the maximum amount will not exceed 50,000 rubles. At the same time, it does not matter in which region the policy was issued.
Before drafting the Euro Protocol
The example of filling the Euro protocol in an accident is very important. It helps to draw up the document correctly. Only in this case there is no doubt that insurance companies will accept it. It should be borne in mind that the use of fountain and gel pens, as well as pencils is unacceptable. If you want the document to be accepted without question, fill it with a ballpoint pen.
But before that, inspect the form. The MTPL Euro Protocol, the filling sample of which is given below, must be clean and intact. It’s better not to hand over the document to the UK if it is torn or some characters are not visible on it.
Europrotocol is allowed to be filled in a single copy. It doesn’t matter which side it is made up of, who will be given a copy written in pen, and who will be given a carbon copy, and which insurance company it belongs to. The main thing is to write clearly, clearly and with a good pressure of the pen so that everything is visible. If any characters are illegible or not printed, then the IC will independently extract the missing information. And it may not be in your favor.
We make Europrotocol
In paragraph 17, you must draw a diagram of what happened. This is an extremely important point. Therefore, it should be treated as carefully as possible. The scheme should reflect the cars participating in the accident in the position in which they collided. In addition, a road with markings and directions of movement, signs, stationary objects located nearby, nearby streets with names and more is fixed in the scheme.

After the front side is filled, both sides must put their signatures below. The document is disconnected, and no additional data can be entered or changed on the front side. Moreover, any corrections are also invalid.
Each driver fills out the reverse side separately. There is no need to sign in each of the copies. Also, if the accident participants are in a hurry, they can leave and then complete the document in a relaxed atmosphere.
Keep in mind: even insignificant, seemingly trifles, may interest the insurance company. Therefore, describe everything fully and clearly. To sign or not
By signing at Europrotocol, a traffic accident participant confirms that he fully agrees with what is recorded in it. No “partially admit guilt” and other similar notes should not be next to the signature. If one of the parties refuses to sign the document, this means disagreement with the contents of the Euro Protocol. In this case, there is nothing left but to call the traffic police inspector and entrust the registration of the accident to him.
Europrotocol filling pattern: everything should be the same
In the photo above, we placed a sample of a traffic accident notice. Please note that all letters are written clearly and clearly. This is exactly what you need to fill out the document. But sometimes, by signing it and separating both parts, you find that there are inaccuracies that require explanation. Then, having attached the second copy back, try to add the missing information. However, if corrections are visible, it is better to rewrite Europrotocol so that later there are no problems with the insurance company.
Keep in mind: if the insurer considers that the document contains incomplete information or there are inaccuracies, it will independently collect data, which will increase the time for consideration of the case. And if it turns out that important information related to the case is not recorded, then in general it can refuse to pay.
And what to do after?
Within five working days after the occurrence of the event, two copies of the form, as well as photographs are sent to the insurer. In addition, the car must not be repaired for fifteen days. Otherwise, payment may be refused.
Conclusion
So, Europrotocol, which in Western countries has long been considered the norm, has not yet received widespread adoption in Russia. And that is understandable. After all, the insurance company may not accept if Europrotocol (form) is incorrectly completed. It is better for drivers to study both the filling pattern and the instructions in advance, so that if an accident occurs with minor consequences, you can quickly and correctly arrange it and leave.
