Mandatory certification is a system of quality control and safety confirmation in the field of technical regulation stipulated by law. Both imported goods and those produced in the Russian Federation are subject to verification.

- Acceptance of a package of documents from applicants and their verification.
- Researching product samples.
- Drawing up test reports.

- Consideration of applications from applicants contesting certification results.

When can I voluntarily certify products?
Voluntary certification is possible in cases where the quality of the goods does not need to be confirmed without fail. The very formulation of the procedure already suggests that it only needs the desire of the manufacturer. However, there is another option: certification may be requested by the customer, and in this case it will also be considered voluntary, despite visible coercion.
Certification bodies do not distinguish between the way applicants turned to them - on a voluntary or mandatory basis. Quality research is carried out according to unified technological schemes. But by issuing a certificate of conformity for products, the institution will provide a different color than with the mandatory procedure. For voluntary confirmation of quality, the document is blue, for mandatory - yellow.
What documents should be submitted for Russian goods?

- Articles of association.
- Description of the product or product.
- Technical documentation.

What documents should be submitted for goods from abroad?
To issue a certificate for imported goods:
- Delivery contract (copy).
- Charter of the importing organization that filed the application.

- A document confirming the quality of the goods (if the delivery is carried out directly by the manufacturer).
It should be borne in mind that goods delivered within the Customs Union are certified according to the rules in force in the Russian Federation.
Certificate Instruction
In order to issue a certificate of conformity for products, the applicant will need to take several steps in the following sequence:
Step 1. Using the Nomenclature, determine which category the product belongs to and which document it should be drawn up: a mandatory certificate of product conformity, a declaration of conformity, or a sanitary and epidemiological report.
Step 2 Find in the register the nearest authority that certifies these products.
Step 3 Visit this institution and consult on the procedure and list of documents.
Step 4 Fill out an application for certification and submit it to the appropriate authority. The application should be accompanied by technical documentation and the product sample itself.
Step 5 Make payment for certification body services.
Step 6 Get the result of the application. Two weeks were allotted to the certification body for consideration of the application. During this period they must notify the applicant when and how they will take samples and take them.
Step 7. Obtain the results of laboratory tests, issued in the form of a protocol, and the decision on certification of products (or on refusal to issue the corresponding document).
