What can be medical policies? The fact is that in Russia there is a system of medical insurance, both mandatory and voluntary. Confirming this is a document serves as a kind of policy. How can it be? How to get it? How long is the document being studied? In fact, understanding all this is not so difficult.
What it is
To begin with, it’s worth figuring out what kind of document is in question. What medical policy insurance (a sample will be presented later)? What is it for?
As already mentioned, this is a certificate that confirms the availability of medical insurance of one type or another. That is, participation in the compulsory medical insurance system or VHI is assigned to a person. By the way, you can use several options at the same time.
In the presence of a medical policy, a citizen has the right to receive free medical care in hospitals and clinics. Private centers also sometimes ask to present this document - it will confirm the availability of medical insurance. Mandatory policy for both children and adults.
Compulsory medical insurance
Now you can consider several types of document under study. Medical policies may vary. For example, paper received under the MHI program. This is a rather large sheet, which is placed in a special envelope. The document contains information about the recipient, as well as the name of the organization that issued the policy. It is worth noting that each recipient is assigned a separate medical bill number. This is an extremely important component for serving citizens.
The MHI policy is the most common option among the population, but it also has its drawbacks. You can get it without any problems. But about the design procedure a bit later. To begin with, it’s worth understanding what kind of medical policies for citizens there are in Russia.
VHI
The next option is voluntary health insurance. There is a separate policy for this system. By himself, he usually represents either a plastic card, or a small booklet in which information is written about the owner and the organization that conducted the insurance procedure.
One difference from the compulsory medical insurance program is that with voluntary medical insurance a citizen will have to “buy” an appropriate policy. But at the same time, a person will receive an expanded list of free medical services.
More and more often, citizens turn to various authorities in order to apply for a VHI policy. A variety of voluntary health insurance schemes exist. But at the same time, the policy remains the same. It differs from that issued under the compulsory medical insurance program, although it contains similar information. The cost of this type of policy will vary. It all depends on the chosen insurance program.
New sample
It should also be noted that for citizens who decide to use the compulsory health insurance system, some changes have come into force. More precisely, innovations. The fact is that medical policies are now issued not only in the form of a paper sheet. The latest news indicates that from now on every citizen has the opportunity to receive a new type of document.
Now the MHI policy is presented in the form of a special plastic card that resembles a bank card. At the same time, the document will contain all the information indicated in the paper analogue. Only the processing of information using such a card is faster.
Temporary and permanent
How long are medical policies? In general, all the documents mentioned earlier can be of several types - temporary and permanent.As a rule, the first type is issued to a citizen when replacing or initial issuing paper.
How long is the temporary policy? On average 1 month. During this time, the citizen will have to produce a permanent document. If he is not ready, after a specified period of time will have to re-obtain a temporary policy, if necessary.
But the main policy, as a rule, is unlimited. But if you change personal data (for example, last name) or wear of paper, it must be replaced. When using the VHI document, the validity period expires in accordance with the conditions of the selected program.
Universal card
These are not all the features you need to know about. It should be borne in mind that medical policies may not only occur in the types indicated above. There is a so-called UEC. This is a universal electronic card.
This document cannot be called a purely medical policy. Instead, UEC replaces most of the available papers. Therefore, it is often considered as the next type of document being studied. By herself, she presents a small plastic card, usually silver, with the RF emblem on the front side, a photo of the owner and information about him - on the reverse. The validity of such a document is 5 years. This is not the most common option that is used by the population in practice.
Now it’s clear what interpretations of a medical insurance policy exist. Moscow or any other city - the rules are the same everywhere.
Where to get
But where to get a medical policy? In fact, not everything is as difficult as it might seem. The fact is that modern citizens are given almost complete freedom of choice.
As a rule, a medical company is engaged in the issuance and execution of the document under study. The policy can be exchanged or issued at the points of issuance of the studied paper, which are located in polyclinics.
Most often, an insurance company issues a medical policy. Both under the compulsory medical insurance program and under voluntary medical insurance, a citizen himself can choose the organization to which he will apply with a specific package of documents.
You can also use the State Services portal or multifunctional centers for registration. On the relevant sites, the citizen will find out the exact location of the next MFC. In each city, these organizations have their own addresses. A medical insurance policy is issued at the MFC in the same way as at insurance companies.
Documents for registration
And what will be required to obtain it? Regardless of what type of policy is needed, citizens present a certain list of documents. It all depends on the age and citizenship of the person. So, citizens of the Russian Federation, adults, bring with them:
- passport;
- application of the established form (filled in place);
- SNILS (required);
- previous medical policy (if any).
For children, the list is slightly different:
- insurance certificate (SNILS, according to the established rules - mandatory);
- an application filled out on behalf of the legal representative (executed in the previously selected organization);
- identity card of the applicant parent;
- policy (if available);
- child's passport (for children 14 years old);
- birth certificate.
Medical policies are also available to foreign citizens. They bring the following list of documents:
- statement of established form;
- foreign passport;
- residence permit (or any other certificate indicating the legality of stay in the territory of the Russian Federation).
A new type of medical policy is issued in the same way. Where to get it? In the same place where the documents were submitted. When applying through the "State Services", it is proposed either to contact the regional MFC for receipt, or to the nearest insurance company that makes the policy. By the way, a document issued under the MHI program does not require any cash. The design is completely free.
