Replacing a Russian passport
So you made up your mind change last name. A legitimate question arises as to which documents should be replaced when changing the name. First of all, you have to change your passport. And you need to do this until one month has passed since the marriage was registered (of course, if the wife intends to take her husband's surname). Otherwise, there is a chance to get a fine for living with an invalid passport in the Russian Federation. What you need to provide
Replacement of a passport, however, like all actions with this document, takes place at the branches of the Federal Migration Service, that is, at passport offices. In order to change documents when changing your name, you need to submit the following papers:
- birth certificate;
- an application stating the new surname and a sample of the new signature (the form can be obtained at the office);
- A receipt proving that you paid the state fee;
- passport with a maiden name;
- 4 photos 35x45 mm (color);
- marriage certificate (original) or other documents required to amend the passport.
A passport for a new surname will be ready ten days after the application was filed at the place of registration or about two months in the event of filing at the place of temporary registration.

What documents are needed to change the name
- Two copies of the application, which must be certified at the place of work or study, which indicates the old name, date and place when it changed, the place of all work or educational institutions over the past ten years.

The new SNILS will be issued within one to three months. Medical policy, TIN
When there is a change of surname after marriage, the documents that need to be changed include the TIN and medical insurance policy.
The medical policy is changed at the insurance company where it was issued, or at the district clinic. To do this, you will need a passport, where the new name is indicated, and the old policy.

Driver's license

True, this can be postponed until the moment when they cease to be valid, and before that they carry with them and present during verification a certificate of marriage (a copy), which was certified by a notary. When the term of rights expires, you will visit the traffic police or MREO at the place of residence. The following documents must be presented there:
- passport;
- the original, as well as a copy of the marriage certificate;
- a medical certificate that confirms the suitability for driving;
- driver card issued with first rights;
- receipt of state duty (800 rubles);
- old rights.

- Employment history. It does not need to be changed. After you notify the employer and provide a marriage certificate, he will make the necessary changes to it.
- To change the student’s grades, reading and student cards, it is enough to present a copy of the marriage certificate. To replace a certificate, a graduate student needs, in addition to a passport supported by a marriage certificate, a statement that must be certified by the head of the department and the supervisor of studies. Diplomas of higher education obtained before marriage do not change.
- Documents that confirm ownership, also remain unchanged. In order to continue to make any transactions with them, it will be enough to present a certificate confirming marriage.

Still, most women prefer to give him the name of their father. In the event that the mother has a maiden name, this can create many legal difficulties while the child remains underage.
